Because there are so many rowhouses. A lot of times, the rowhouses on the end have big blank walls,so adding murals give them a little character. Baltimore has a lot of murals too for the same reason, especially in the artsy neighborhoods.

I love it, remember driving through and seeing alot of run down houses but it didnt look so bad with all the artwork
