I made this thread on Gaf and that shyt got locked cuz people started getting reckless but anyway..
It's something that really annoys me to read because out of all the third person shooters I've played this last generation almost all of them are pretty much the same thing.
Take for example Gears of War 3 where you have cover system,GREAT shooting and a wide array of weapons to choose from with differences among them and that's it in a nutshell. Not knocking the game in any way, you can check my GT as I've played Geow3 extensively.
The Last of Us has:a cover system, solid shooting mechanics with weapon sway that can be upgraded, weapon upgrades, general upgrades, stealth, close quarters combat, resource management, and interactive environments that adds some variation to the combat. not to mention the AI is pretty damn good. So what is exactly shallow about all of this?
there's almost always a moment in the game where encounters requires me to think about it to the point where I'm almost afraid to go in trying to rambo my way through the game. the satisfaction of clearing out a room of infected or humans brutally is second to none.
I mean can someone expound on this blasphemy I keep hearing mostly on the internet?
