Why are superhero movies so bad?

Like 95% past or present are trash

Even the "good" ones are more of a one time watch during the summer thing

When was the last time you watched Spider-Man 2? The Dark Knight was really good but I can't tell you the last time I felt the urge to put that on. I only go on YouTube to watch the joker scenes, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

And that is considered the GREATEST one.

1. Most movies aren't that good regardless of the genre
2. They are usually for children at the end of the day
3. Comic books have iconic characters but very few iconic stories
4. We allowed nerd culture to take over pop culture and if you aren't a part of it then you won't understand the hype

And superior to what? Michael Bay movies? Those Michael Chricton and Tom Clancy novels that provided source material for the 90s? That's debatable...

Comic books are just a good source of content and easy to sell to young people and foreign markets.

Did the Fantastic Four, who nobody has ever gave a shyt about, get 3 movies in 12 years becuz of "superior material"...no.

Yeah consumers and it's a free market and the public has chosen. Comic book and animated movies is what they want, something for a wide audience.
And comic movies are superior to whatever came out at the time, that month and often that year. the box office numbers don't lie. FF4 got all those movies because it is a comic property and consumers are into that right now. If you are talking what is objectively is 'better', there is no such thing when it comes to artistic endeavors.
