If you're young, do yourself a favor and never take a old nikka advice. Just do the exact opposite of what any of them say. They aren't bad ppl, just indoctrinated and neutered by the system. Most older blacks were taught to be subservient and that less was good enough.

The world has changed and the economy has changed. Some ppl can follow the old way of doing things and win but a lot of ppl need to make adjustments or you'll end up stagnant like that movie groundhog's day. Where u live 70 years doing the same shyt everyday. That really can happen. I've seen it, I got family members who never left their neighborhood. Their life is nothing but drama, fast food, alcohol, cigarettes all day. And now the younger generation seem stuck because we've been told that this is life, which clearly isn't.

I think young ppl really gotta learn how to think outside the box to get the things they want. The old way was flawed from the start, it's just now being exposed. Nobody should have to work 60 hrs a week to keep lights on? Ppl that follow the old way of life will lose Everytime.

Older black ppl don't got the answers man, don't listen to your parents either. They don't know what the fukk is going on, fukk do they know? Their advice will have u all fukked up and stuck. The truth is, they can't help u and they can't help themselves. All of them are at the mercy of the system.

And stay away from nikkas that ain't doing nothing. nikkas that's partying all the time and going to work. How the fukk r u suppose to achieve your goals if you're working all the damn time? The answer is...u can't...u gotta be a real dumbass to believe that u can turn up on the weekend, chasing p*ssy and getting fukked up...then work 60 hours a week and still magically achieve your dreams. That's impossible, u got stupid ppl on FB talking about they're gringing working 70 hrs a week...how is that grinding? You're a slave.

U gotta make adjustments and give up materialism and having that nikka mentality so u won't be a slave. Keep your expenses low and avoid money traps. Maybe u wouldn't have to work so hard u lived a minimalist lifestyle dummy. Save and invest. Because if you're still blowing your money on bullshyt in 2016 then fukk u, and when you're on your knees giving some old white guy sexual favors for your survival. I'm not trolling, ur really gonna have nikkas doing that in order to survive

I know what OP is saying because I take advice from my uncle and then things don't go so well. My job was taken from me by a guy who did his own thing and was free to be his own advice giver and then my uncle said that it was ok because I believed in myself too. Not so true uncle! lol I had a woman that lived with me and her grandfather also gave me bad advice about how to live, and he told me to invest in his fruit stand and it only made me some money but not very glamorous. Maybe the advice would be better if they understood more of what you want to invest in? Crazy how funny life is, lol.

It's true, but a lot of dudes on here believe that old ppl are right just because they're old.

The only older black men i take business or financial advice from are those who have/had their own business or self employed. And I may also listen to an older black man who is an employee if he's very successful but if not :camby: Too many of them are on that, "well u getz u a job from da white man and dont go causin no ruckus and u be fine, u retire in 50 yearz"

They set a lot of young ppl who didn't know any better up for failure

They were supposed to build for and employ their ppl, they failed to do that on a massive scale

So yes, i generally have done and will continue to do the opposite of what they say.

A lot of old nikkas blueprint is this: apply to random jobs, get one, and hopefully stay there for 45 years. That is, if you don't get laid off. If you do get laid off, do it again. And again (there's a good chance you'll get laid off or fired because statistically, black males are the most likely to be laid off or fired from the workplace over white males, asian males, etc if someone has to go, it's a good chance it will be us first over them)

And nikkas on here will swear that this is the same thing cacs, asians, arabs, etc do. No, it's not. They are a lot more likely to start businesses or pass them down. That's why you're seeing random asian, arab, cac, latino owned stores/restaurants pop up all over the place. Then they hire relatives or friends etc. They set their goals higher than just working for a cac for 45-50 years. They build and then practice nepotism. We're the ones still begging to get in instead of building our own and practicing our own nepotism.

Their ultimate goal is not "just get a job" from a white man and any black man who believes otherwise is an idiot.

I can understand working these little jobs temporarily, until a brother saves up enough capital to do more. But to just get one and stay forever, AND encourage other black men to do the same with their lives? Especially staying forever at some menial shyt like a warehouse or fast food place??

I know there's some who will have to take that route but they need to stop acting like it should be the standard for all of us. In fact, LESS of us need to go that route.

A lot of old cats still believe that the best thing to do is get a job from a white man, even if it's a shytty job, just "get you a job" from a cac and stay there the rest of your life. If you get laid off (which is a possibility because statistically black males have a higher chance of being laid off or fired than white males, asian males, etc) then get back out there and find another job from another white man. It seems like it never occured to most of them to just stack from those jobs until you have enough dough to start your own shyt.

Don't take advice from anyone who hasn't accomplished anything in life. Doesn't matter how old they are. Its alot of old nikkas that are doing the same shyt now that theyve been doing since they were 13yrs, trying to tell someone what and how to do shyt theyve never done. Ive argued this heatedly with an older dude before.

People say respect your elders but the real answer is respect those who are respectable.

Lol its the truth. If a young black man listens to their advice, its a good chance he'll be 53 still working at k mart or retail making 12 dollars an hour, taking orders from young or middle aged cacs

Generally, their advice is never about building your own, it's about just getting in the white man's business and staying. The crazy part is, some of the same ones who want you to do this, are struggling but still want you to do it anyway :why:

i remember when i was working 2 jobs and in school, saving money like crazy, i was barely going out on weekends and barely buying new kicks and clothes (which was hard for me because i was a former sneakerhead and i like to party as well), but i knew that to do what i wanted, i was going to need some money saved up, so i had to curb my spending habits. There were a couple of old relatives in my family (one who worked at fukking Target at like 59 yrs old) who used to laugh at me, saying shyt like "boy you always on dat computer" or "you always studying" "do you ever have fun, why you always doing x,y,z" this nikka didn't even own a house, he was still renting and still is, only thing the nikka owns is his car (if that), and to top it off he got laid off from Target like a year after that, and was borrowing money from relatives to pay the bills until he found another shytty job. These are the type of nikkas who will clown a young black man for wanting to do more than the "black male status quo". I think him getting laid off from that job he bragged about humbled him a bit, he doesn't clown me for being on my computer or tablet a lot anymore :umad:

And i'm about that passive income nikka....a lot of old nikkas don't be on that, they just believe in the same old hamster wheel, the typical, 9 to 5 working for a cac for peanuts

More and more ppl are going the entrepreneural route, mostly other races, but who says that i can't do the same? :sitdown:i swear a lot of them think they have to depend on the white man forever, like they can't do their own thing independently. Yes you may need to work for cacs or whoever until you get enough money saved, but to act like all black men have to do that for the rest of their life :beli:Most of them get shook at the thought of starting your own business, they start sounding like slaves being scared to be caught by massa, "you best stick wit dat job massa gave u, what u gon do if u leavez da plantation?! how u gon live? aint nothin else out derr fo us! hush that fuss" :francis:

Yeah you have to be careful some elders will take advantage and advise you in ways that benefit them but maybe not you so much

Sooooooo....... None of you have successful parents?

Or they not to be listened to either?

My parents are nice ppl, but when it comes to business, no i don't listen to their advice :yeshrug: Is that a sin or something?

It depends on how you define successful i guess. They both have worked extremely hard for white ppl their whole lives but i can look at the results of it and know that i don't want to go the same path.

I'd also like to pass down a business to my kids.

They're also very out of touch with the economy and white supremacy

Again, nice ppl, worked hard their whole lives but i'm trying to work smart. They think entrepreneurship is never an option for a young black man, they pretty much believe that it's best to be a white man's employee. They tried to talk me out of it and wanted me to stick with being a fukking cashier, because "jobs are hard to come by" :aicmon:

I'm not following the blueprint of slaving away for 50 yrs for cacs who underpay black ppl and look for reasons to try to lay us off. I'm not above working undesirable jobs for money but i am not doing that FOREVER. I did it until i had enough money to become my own boss, but there's no way i'd do the same thing my parents did and that's what they tried to convince me to do.

I feel you breh. I'm a little different. I would prob never live up to my folks levels of "success", but they never told me what I should do with my life - except that I have to go to University". Bless them for that.

Like I said, I can see where you coming from, I'm just confused how you guys can go from that to "don't listen to anybody older than you"!
