Whatever happens in games 4-7, can we agree ANALYTICS has proven to be FALSE?

all season, we kept hearing how this GS team was a historically great team because of the analytics. we kept hearing how they would easily beat Cleveland (even before the injury to kyrie) because the analytics were so overwhelmingly on their side. when chuck or a few other dudes who actually played the game would say jump shooting teams don't win rings, they'd get called fools or behind the times.

what now numbers nerds?

Cleveland is winning this series playing rugged 90s basketball. Physical. Tough. Slow place. Isolation. LeBron is playing like 2001 Allen Iverson on STERIODS. high usage. high volume. LOW EFFICIENCY. Cleveland has stopped playing basketball and made this shyt a street fight for 48 minutes. and they're winning. this is how i always felt Memphis would beat GS. It took Cleveland to execute that gameplan.

I always said Cleveland/Miami with LeBron were unique cause whenever they got in trouble, they have a locomotive they can give the ball to who can put his head down and get to the rim. same with San Antonio and Duncan giving them critical buckets in the post. Golden State's problem is when they get in trouble, they don't have a way to get easy buckets in the half court. They're best players are trying to create off the dribble to get JUMP SHOTS. that is what everyone whose doubted them has been saying.

Allen Iverson is the guy who is a paraiah to the analytics nerds. every possession is LeBron isolation. every possession is lebron shot or lebron pass to shooters. The Grizz didn't have the shooting to beat the Warriors, no matter how gritty they were, you ain't beating a team like the Warriors if you can't hang with them from the 3 line. So far, the Warriors have made 10 threes per game, the Cavs are at 9, the Grizz were at 4.

If this Cavs team couldn't hit the 3 they'd be getting washed right now, because you could double LeBron without worrying about shooting.

This is not "classic early 2000s" ball, because those teams lacked shooting which is why teams with isolation wings couldn't win shyt. The Cavs are playing SF's at PF just for the purpose of spacing, and doubling LeBron is extremely dangerous because of the fact he has several high percentage 3 point shooters around him and they will take a high volume of threes.

They are using LeBron like he's a big man and surrounding him with shooters for days and playing small ball for the majority of the game.
