this is definitely overboard. And all the people with top tweets are clearly woke-shea butter twitter bandwagon fans. And I'm saying this as a person that clearly a comic book/movie fan and I'm of that group of people that's just happy to see the movie. I'm just making sure to acknowledge that this is too far. It's just good to see this type of black movie, its not a super monumental shift in power.

The only thing I look at it for is the media aspect of it, regarding the thread topic

I mean, I'm #marvelgang all the way (gang gang)

so I love ALL marvel movies. But regarding the "monumental aspect" of this movie you gotta remember how powerful a force media is

and remember that whenever positive images of black ppl are shown on screen, it's a good thing.

For example, ppl directly credit the Cosby Show with putting out the first image of a well-off, positive black family, and a lot of people said when they went to vote for Barack Obama, that was the image they had in their mind. That the Obamas reminded them of the Huxtables

So media is important. Life always reflects art. We see all these youngsters running around here doing and saying stupid stuff, cause they saw it in a music video

That's because media directly influences people

so yeah, this is a superhero movie, but it's also a positive image of black people during a time when we have very few positive representations in media

that's my take on it

I'm not gonna lie I love BP he is my favorite avenger but I'm not gonna sit here and front like BP was more poppin than Spidey or Wolverine when I was a fukking kid, glad to see him get his shine but these bandwagon fans are atrocious and they're fukking it up. What will happen tho is that this movie is gonna do for the character what happened to Iron Man, take him from that B+ level hero popularity to that household name A++ level and thats a GOOD thing
