We need a Rick James biopic

1 of the most prolific artists of all time yet we really only know of the wild side of Rick James.
His genius is greatly overshadowed by his wild and free spirit.
Rick a great singer, songwriter and producer.
In a lot of ways, he was the precursor to Prince. shyt, Prince was the opening act for his Fire It Up Tour
I think Terrance Howard could play Rick James w/ the movie done w/ the same type of class as Ray's biopic


Just up listening to some classic Rick James, thinking back to how my aunts and uncles told me how great his shows were back in the late 70's and early 80's. The brother was quite the artist.

That's cause you done got so use to him doing that fake southern accent he used in Hustle N Flow and sometimes on Empire.
I think he could do it if he study enough footage of Rick James and got the chance to meet with his family, really learn who he was as a person and listening to old interviews and music.

I could picture Terrance as Smokey Robinson but not as Rick James.

I don't know, I think Terrence got it him as an actor to show both sides of Rick James; the guy who loved music and was a master of his craft and then also the guy who loved to party.

Yeah, I remember this and I know Chapelle did the infamous Rick James skit but I could in no way see Chapelle doing a Rick James biopic.
But then again, I could never seen Jamie Foxx doing Ray and he did.
