“In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.”

Production on War For the Planet of the Apes began back in 2015 when director Matt Reeves confirmed shooting had started. He posted two behind-the-scene photos to his Twitter which showed actors wearing motion-capture suits. The scene was filmed in Vancouver on a beach where one action can be seen approaching the other who is on horseback.

Last year, the folks behind the film even gave fans an opportunity to cameo in the film if they showed 20th Century Fox their best ape impression. Andy Serkis teamed up with Matt Reeves to create the contest. “We're giving one lucky fan the chance to become an ape in Caesar's greatest battle yet,” the actor said. “We'll pick one winner to fly to set, wear a performance-capture suit, and be in a scene."
