A Sterling paramedic who allegedly posted racist remarks on Facebook criticizing New England Patriots players for kneeling during the national anthem has been suspended by the town's Fire Department.
Sterling Fire Chief David Hurlbut Jr. said in a news release that the department received information about a Facebook post made by on-call paramedic Linda Kimball and launched an internal investigation.
The post, which drew criticism online, is a picture of the Patriots players kneeling during their Sept. 24 game. In the Facebook post listed under Linda Kimball, she calls the players "porch monkeys" and "entitled." She tells the players they needed to stand up.
Kimball is not scheduled to work any shifts for the department and will not be scheduled as the internal investigation continues, Hurlbut said. The investigation will determine her future employment status.
