Mr Museveni has said he appreciates Trump's frank language

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has given a speech declaring his "love" for US President Donald Trump.

Earlier this month, Mr Trump was accused of referring to African nations as "shythole" countries during an immigration meeting.

Mr Trump has denied making the remarks but US senators who attended the meeting say that he did.

The African Union demanded that Mr Trump apologise for his "clearly racist" comments.

"America has got one of the best presidents ever," Mr Museveni said to laughter during the opening of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) in the Ugandan capital of Kampala.

"I love Trump because he tells Africans frankly. The Africans need to solve their problems, the Africans are weak."

Mr Museveni's comments are in opposition to the reaction of many leaders who have condemned Mr Trump's language.

On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron told the BBC that he shared Africa's outrage.

On Monday, people in Haiti, another country that Mr Trump disparaged, protested against the president's remarks.

Mr Museveni's defence of the US president came just hours after the US ambassador to Uganda criticised Mr Trump.

"[His words] are obviously quite disturbing and upsetting," Deborah Malac said.

Mr Trump allegedly used the term "shythole countries" when asking why the US should accept immigrants from Haiti and some countries in Africa.

In 2017, Mr Trump allegedly said that Afghanistan was a terrorist haven; all people from Haiti "have Aids", and that Nigerians would never "go back to their huts" once allowed into the US, the New York Times reported.

The White House denied Mr Trump made the comments.

Although I have got no love for the Ugandan president because he’s also part of the problem and Trump is a racist b*stard. But even a dead clock is right twice a day and hate sometimes bring out the best in people due to how it makes them have a chip of their shoulder. So I understand the Ugandan president’s point.

Let’s not act like Africa is Wakanda where everything is perfect. There’s a reason why everyone is trying to get the fukk out of there. Look at a country like Nigeria that can be far better than it’s right now and how corruption is endemic there. A country where $50 billion went missing 3 years ago and it’s yet to be accounted for - despite the millions of starving mouths out there. And it’s the same country that elected a m0ron as president to replace another m0ron. Then you have all kinds of tribal nonsense and fraudulent separatists running around. How can you look at these things and not say Africans are weak?

Africans need to start fixing their problems. You’ve Biya who has turned your country, Cameroon, into a family estate. You ought to be mad at him as well.

He's just like his hero Trump, deflects and takes no responsibility.

Hes been president of Uganda for decades and that means if Uganda is a shythole then he made it that way. Cant wait for all these old ass African leaders to die off. The young well educated presidents are doing well, its these old fossils with colonial mindsets that need to go away.

He appreciates people who say what they really think and don't sugar-coat shyt. I have zero problem with that :manny:
Some of you seem to expect your enemy to be polite and courteous to you. Always remember Toussaint L'ouverture was captured during a negotiated truce to end of the rebellion. Dessalines took over and in his path killed civilian whites (women and children included) and ended up being successful. One thing I respect about Trump is he's showing you his true colors at every turn from his appointment of Jeff Sessions to the " good people on both sides " comment on Charlottesville to the comment about black immigrants.

And also always remember that his core Republican supporters still go hard for him despite these things so he is technically a reflection of that core group. They are not and have never been your friends.

So protest and be outraged all we want. With all due respect and props to MLK for what he was able to accomplish but #1 I personally don't believe in nonviolent revolutions.#2 African and other black nations must find a way to solve their own problems. Or as it was said be François Duvalier when he kicked all the foreigners out of Haiti in the early 60s: "the pig must be cooked using the grease from its own fat".

That's coz Musoveni and Trump speak the same language.

Trump is not that different from African dictators.

Hates free press...lavish lifestyle...nepotism and having his family awwlll up in the video...corruption...colluding with outsiders to influence domestic elections

Museveni probably like :myman:
