Ubisoft is one of gaming’s top publishers, and it has revealed that Sony’s latest console platform is where its biscuit gets the most butter.

The French company shared the results of its fiscal first quarter today, and as part of that report, it broke down the sales of its games by platform. And it turns out that the PlayStation 4 generates significantly more revenue than the other consoles systems — that even (and especially) includes Microsoft’s Xbox One. In the last quarter alone, which was Ubisoft’s fiscal 2016 Q1 that represents the three months ending June 30, PlayStation 4 made up 27 percent of all Ubisoft sales. The Xbox One, however, only made up around 11 percent.

Here’s the full breakdown for Ubisoft’s Q1 by platform:

  • PlayStation 4: 27 percent
  • PC: 23 percent
  • Other (mostly mobile): 14 percent
  • Xbox One: 11 percent
  • Xbox 360: 11 percent
  • PlayStation 3: 11 percent
  • Wii and Wii U: 3 percent
Clearly, the PS4 is the most important single platform for Ubisoft followed closely by PC. Xbox One is still only generating as much the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems.

If you’re wondering if this is an anomaly that has only happened in the last three months, it’s not. Here’s a look at the breakdown from Ubisoft’s last Q1 as well:

  • PlayStation 4: 36 percent
  • PC: 14 percent
  • Other (mostly mobile): 1 percent
  • Xbox One: 17 percent
  • Xbox 360: 14 percent
  • PlayStation 3: 17 percent
  • Wii and Wii U: 1 percent
This disparity between PS4 and Xbox One has a few explanations. First, the PlayStation 4 has an obvious worldwide lead in consoles sold over Microsoft’s system. Sony has confirmed that its newest system is already in around 20 million homes. The Xbox One is probably in around 12 million to 15 million. On top of that, Ubisoft is a European company with a lot of clout on that continent. And the PS4 is far more popular than any other gaming console among European nations.

Regardless of the why, this is something that Microsoft obviously wants to do something about. Over the last year, the company has acted aggressively to cut the Xbox One’s price to boost sales. While the PS4 still clearly has the lead, Microsoft is probably relieved that Sony’s software lead with publishers like Ubisoft isn’t larger.

The Original Rec Room Gang
So where UBI-soft sells the most games is thread worthy :wtf:

In other news, I finally started playing Ori & the Blind ass forest.

It makes guacamelee seem like a joke in comparison. Similar types of games, but way more gangsta
Graphically, mechanically, just sayin :manny:

I'd love to talk about DriveClub PS+ and how nobody seems to be talking about that anymore.
But that would be mean. So you take solace in the fact you bought more copies of Watchdogs :mjlol:

Ass Creed is the same old shyt...though Black Flag was great....once they went back to Europe it was the typical lame ass shyt that gets old after a few hours of playing.
