gave him a 5. I think he's one of those guys that benefitted from being around other greats, but he wasn't THAT great in hindsight. The only match I really cared about was Bret/Summerslam. :yeshrug:

Other than that dude's career wasn't all that.

His match with Bret at Summerslam in 92 is one of my all time favourites - made even crazier by the fact that Bret guided him through it after Davey had been hanging out with Neidhart, getting ripped on crack for two weeks :wow:

Dude had some real fukking issues too :merchant:

I want to give him higher than a 6, but I can't really convince myself to. I was a fan, but Bulldog was always good/appealing mostly paired up with others, and was always the lesser half of that tandem. He def has classic matches, mostly vs family members (vs Bret and vs Owen obviously), and I also liked the three way European title match with Val Venis and D'Lo. Was an ok talker, nothing special, had a good look, pretty good power based wrestler, and had a distinct theme (though I liked his '99 theme better than his original). Always liked his Running Powerslam finisher. Even though it's pretty dated now, when the right person does it (like Braun and Lashley), it looks awesome. He was a very identifiable person during Attitude, even if he didn't do a ton. I thought he actually transitioned pretty well late into Attitude when he came back to win the Hardcore title from Bossman and gave it to Al Snow. That jeans and boots look fit him better in that environment instead of going with the classic UK flag colors. Him having the Mean Street Posse as flunkies was both :leon:

-Mic work/promos - cut a decent babyface 80s style promo..typical of that era...nothing overtly special on the mic..dont remember any real fukk ups...5 on that

-Personality/gimmicks british bulldog gimmick is a legendary gimmick..it defined him...union jack tights, the bulldog, the bulldog powerslam...simple and effective...full monty

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) - when he was on he could really go...as a kid i used to enjoy watching him squash a jobber on superstars...dude had above average athleticism, agility, and a lot of power....he had great tag matches with dynamite kid and owen hart...bulldog vs bret hart at summerslam 92 and even more underrated at IYH 5 were classics..as well as the match with owen hart over the european title which is prolly the last great singles match of his career..part of the GOAT 10 man canadian stampede match..even had some good matches in WCW with vader and regal....the running bulldog powerslam is a great finisher...but when he left the WWF in late 97 it was downhill from there..in fact the only good ring moment he had was being the recipient of the GOAT People's Elbow

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) 7 is a good score..just like Dynamite Kid..dude roided and drugged himself back to the point of no return and eventually led to an early grave for him..its a damn shame too..but dude was great was in prime and has enough body of work to back that up

He's a solid 7. Always a good hand in the ring, he was always believable, classic gimmick, has classic matches in his resume, yeah sure across the ring we're legendary workers but he did his part. One half of one of the greatest tag teams ever and him and Owen were a great team as well. He's a 7

7. Low key he had an outstanding run in WCW 93. He had some legit great matches with Vader and a tag match with Sting against Vader and Sid. He was on fire that year. That year he was an 8. The rest of his run doesn't interest me that much, but 7 overall still.
