With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Carlito in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
Carlito my dog! He gets a 7 from me, but he had potential. Just couldn't live up to em for whatever reason. After he put on the pants and grew that nasty ass goatee, he checked out and it was over for em.

Wouldn't mind seeing a return down the line given he's in shape and can still go.

-Mic work/promos: 8.

-Personality/gimmicks: 8

-Ring work: 7.5

-Overall rating: 7

Career most memorable moment/angle is when he had Jesús hit the club and stab Cena in the kidney, followed closely by him running into the wall chasing Hornswoggle.

Never stood out as being great or terrible in any one area, so a mediocre score of 5 seems about right.

Lot of untapped potential with Carlito. He had a (no pun intended) cool look, interesting gimmick, he could talk well. Wasn’t the most memorable worker but he could go. He’s just one of many, many midcard dudes from that era that never went anywhere for one reason (poor attitude, no motivation, etc.) or another. Whether or not the reports about his poor attitude and laziness were true or came from his own doing or unhappiness with the company is up for debate. After about 2007 though his relevance as a character on WWE tv was over, and the next few years were basically just coast and collect a check aka Dolph Ziggler status. I stanned dude briefly but his resume is too short to really say a whole lot about. He’s got a few solid matches (triple threat with Shelton & Nitro, vs. Orton, etc.) and a few solid feuds with names like Cena and Flair, but not a whole lot to his name. Call it a 6 for Carlito

When you're only two memorable highlights from your career on the biggest stage in the industry are this

and this

you don't deserve anything higher than a 2 or 3. Other than being able to cut a promo, dude was massively over-hyped, no memorable moments in the ring, and was part of the worst era of WWE in the past 20 years. It says something that TNA, who at that point in time would throw money at any reject (i.e. Kennedy), wanted nothing to do with him. Same for ROH.

Might have to deduct another point for allowing Vince to tell him to “spic it up” :francis:

Really good assessment here. Untapped potential is must definitely the way to describe him. He had a really hot 1.5-2 year period, then was very insignificant after that. Him being paired wit Torrie as a face was pretty silly, and his tag title reign with Primo was underwhelming. A 6 is s perfect rating for him.

Crazy thing is, I saw him wrestle a dark match against Funaki before he ever made his tv debut, and the heat he got simply by existing was incredible. I thought dude would be a major player, but laziness/demotivation killed his career off.
