All I really remember of him "live" is late stage WCW when he was doing that Total Package gimmick

Never had any inclination to watch anything he ever did, so I was gonna give him a 2, but bumped it up to 3 because Lex Luger is one of the GOAT ring names

For the last evaluation, CM Punk got 8.0.

What would he have got if you took out the six bum-ass trolls that gave him a 1? Interested to see if he'd have got higher than Steiner

Excluding the 1s and 2s he would have gotten 8.56 which would have still been lower than Steiner.

-Mic work/promos
4.5
Never a good promo guy, but that also was never part of his appeal to begin with. Although, at times, he was capable of delivering a really great face promo like around the time he was taking the title from Hogan in 1997. Suitably dikkheaded and cocky as a heel, surprisingly hilarious near the end of WCW. Still, not a guy you want to hear speak too often.

-Personality/gimmicks
6.5
The Narcissist was good. Generic muscle man Lex was OVER as fukk in JCP/WCW prior to his constant losing to Flair, and then again was super over in 1997. Like, crazy over. The Total Package was ridiculous, but led to some funny moments. His best period from a character stand point was when he returned to WCW in 1995 and was a heel, but still friends with face Sting, and all the conflict that caused between Sting/Hogan/Macho/Horsemen/DoD. In a way, Lex was kind of the fulcrum of everything going on in the Fall/Winter of 1995 and a bit into 1996. Some of WCW's best writing, imo.

Very capable prior to his motorcycle wreck. Late 80s, early 90s Lex was pretty legit, especially against the right opponent. He was pretty good his first few months in the WWF after that, but became utter dog shyt pretty much for the rest of his career after that. Would very often botch his own finishers and signatures, but what he could hit, he usually hit pretty well.

His best match is teaming with Sting against the Steiners at the first Superbrawl. He had lots of good matches against the Horsement in the 80s. Narcissist/Perfect from WM 9 was good.

He had some good years and good feuds prior to 1993. Very capable muscle man wrestler up until that point. The next 8 years were god awful outside of a handful of special moments. If his entire career had been what it was after 1993, he'd be a 2 or 3 at most. Somehow always managed to be over despite subpar promos and in ring ability, which should bump him up a bit. Even the Lex Express stuff was OVER as fukk, it just wasn't doing business because nothing was doing business in 1993. But to pretend that people weren't into Lex in 1993 is pretty silly.

He probably accomplished waaaaaaay more than he should have given his talent level. He was almost always over for some reason and accomplished a lot from a kayfabe perspective.

His WWF work really holds him down because they tried to make him a new Hogan (much like Roman and Cena) rather than expose his strengths.

Overall, he only was as good as booking made him. :ld:

Lex is an interesting guy. He benefited from coming up in the NWA in the mid/late 80s up...He was carried to some good/great matches up until the end of his first stint in NWA/WCW. one in particular vs ricky steamboat at GAB 89 is prolly his best match ever. But I think once he went to the WBF then WWF..he kinda phoned in afterwards..pretty much the rest of his career

-Mic work/promos - none that I could remember...he was blah on the mic for the most part..average at best but could get his point across :manny: 3

-Personality/gimmicks - personality he was dull but his gimmicks total package/made in america (:mjlol:)/narcissist got him over along his body (:dame: for good measure)..give him a 6...he was a better heel than a face

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) - his NWA/WCW work from his first stint he had some good to great matches (flair/windham/steamboat/ even danny spivey)..the tag match with sting against the steiners at Superbrawl 1 was as dope as the match with Steamboat that i mentioned..the match with Hogan on that nitro does deserve mention..the fukking pop when he submitted Hogan in the rack makes it noteworthy..but i think he kinda phoned it post first NWA/WCW stint

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores). give him a 5 i guess...he had potential but he kinda coasted..he was a draw to a degree but not a huge one
