If people have any requests for future wrestlers you want to see evaluated, let me know. I'll have one wrestler evaluated for each week every Wednesday. The leaderboard is updated every 5 threads so it's never too late to vote for previous threads.

For the month of October I thought to go with the theme of veterans who still are with the WWE.

For #61 it will be Goldust.

Pending requests: Ted DiBiase, Jake The Snake Roberts, Rikishi, The Godfather, Stan Hansen, Christian Cage, Eddie Gilbert, Scott Hall, Alex Wright, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Dusty Rhodes, Triple H, Chris Candido, Dolph Ziggler

With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Randy Orton in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

High 6/low 7.

For all the low ratings he'll get I fukked with him when he had the legend killer gimmick and also when he was psycho punting nikkas in the head

Garbage since then though

Plus let's not pretend this isn't one of the GOAT wrestling poses, I still do this shyt to my nikkas when I beat them at video games sometimes :lolbron:

6.5, maybe 7.

Given Orton's accomplishments and him being the defacto 1B/#2 dude in the company since at least 2007, him being that low should be criminal. But dude's a fukkboy at heart and fukked himself up. He's had the same match every night for 11 years with hardly any change or evolution in his game beyond the surface level, which he can't even do that anymore due to his shoulders being completely fukked and just costing through shyt for the longest. He's been ass on the mic outside of his Legend Killer run (and even then he was ehhhh) and his Legacy shyt, which were carried largely by better mic workers (Mick, Shawn, Trips to a degree) or better personalities/Gimmicks (Cena & Taker). And that's not even getting into the shyt he's done behind the screens and being such a habitual fukkup that the WWE allegedly had to mandate their three strikes rule so he didn't flunk out of the company, and even then he's had to be saved by them allegedly "Restarting" his 3 strikes in 2012 with that bullshyt Randy Orton Rule/Redemption program.

He's not without a few positives ( @Riley Escobar listed them already), But his career is the epitome of "Had a Spark when he started, but now he's just garbage".

Does lack charisma compared to the greats, but in no way as bad as some make him out to be on here..

4. Overrated, overpraised, and overpushed. No money promos. No iconic moments. Utility lazy worker who could never carry. A ratings disaster. A true loser. Just a real waste of time. The Legend Killer thing was forced..especially considering how much better Benjamin was in the same timeframe. The whole Viper bullshyt from 09 absolutely sucked. fukk his punts..that was a lazy development too. Just a garbage performer. Rather not ever see him again.

Mic work/promos: 2
For someone who had the chance to work with a legendary mic worker like Ric Flair, he still has horrendous mic skills. He can't show emotion, he has a monotone delivery, and he is just overall uninspiring on the mic. The only time he showed any life or enthusiasm was during his "RNN" injury updates segments and even those weren't very good. I only give him one point because his work was decent during his Wrestlemania 25 program with Triple H. Even his intros are amateur. I remember he started a promo recently with "For those who don't know who I am, my name is Randy Orton". :leostare: If that was an NXT Performance Center promo that would be a decent start but it is laughable for a 15 year veteran.

Personality/gimmicks: 3
The Legend Killer gimmick is regarded as one of Orton's best periods but for me I didn't think it was that great. Any person could have gotten the same amount of heat by beating up a bunch of old wrestlers. His psychopathic gimmick in 2009 was good work but like I said earlier he was put in a failproof situation. Ever since 2009, he's been coasting off the "Apex Predator" gimmick which is just him being sneaky and giving RKOs to people.

Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 4
Matches/Feuds: vs Christian, vs Triple H, vs The Undertaker, vs Cactus Jack, vs Chris Benoit, vs Edge, vs Daniel Bryan

I don't understand how someone like Rey Mysterio can praise Orton for his wrestling skills. He phones it in more times than any main eventer that I've ever seen. Even for the times when he puts some effort into his matches, they still aren't very impressive unless he's in the ring with a great worker. Early in his career he explained that he adopted a more grounded wrestling style as opposed to his earlier style that involved some high flying moves. He did that to preserve his body and reduce his number of injuries but it doesn't mean much if your match quality suffers and you still get injured frequently. :skip:

Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 4

Randy Orton is easily one of the worst main event stars that the WWE has ever had. Injury prone, unprofessional, lazy, no personality, terrible mic skills, and on top of that a scumbag outside of the ring. They tried hard to push Orton as the top guy and he blew it. Legacy was an awful stable. :scusthov:

That basically sums up how I feel about Orton's career. Before Roman Reigns, there was Randy Orton. They kept pushing him and making him into a star and their efforts constantly fell short. He's not only unlikable outside of the ring but he's bland and unlikable in the ring as well. He's sabotaged the careers of people like Kofi Kingston and Mr. Kennedy and is unreliable as an employee and as a wrestler. The ONLY positive things about Orton are that he is willing to put people over (i.e. Jinder Mahal, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry) and he's a solid wrestler when working with great workers. When he finally retires, he will just be known as a spoiled brat with a padded resume and a cool finisher.

I’m gonna try and focus on just his in ring career for this one, but it’ll be hard considering all of the issues he’s had outside of it that have effected him or his performance. So here’s the thing with Orton, like I’ve said in the last couple of these things, his rating won’t reflect what he should actually be. He’d NEVER be a ten, but atleast a 8. However, when you’ve been as stale, dull, boring, and downright UNWATCHABLE as he’s been for as long as he has been, there’s no way I can go too high on him. He’s basically INSTANT CHANNEL CHANGE status at this point. I was a big fan of his in his younger days, but he let kayfabe status and company protection (as in stuff like the wellness policy being rewritten for him) coddle him into a state of uninspired irrelevance where he hasn’t genuinely put in noticeable effort in like...6 years. That’s unacceptable for a guy with his resume and talent.

So I say 6 for what he did when I was fan and he cared.

I will say, not in his defense but as an also, that the few times he did really catch fire, they did quickly stomp that out (oddly enough both times by his mentor, HHH) in both 2004 and 2008-9. Had he been allowed to cook, who knows what could’ve happened. But as is?

He sucks on the mic :manny:

Favorite matches would include vs. Rock n Sock at Wrestlemania XX, Cactus Jack at Backlash 04, Benoit at Summerslam 04, Taker at Mania 21, his series with Christian in 2011, and Evolution’s matches with the Shield.

I'm giving him a 1, for the prototype he set of the short-haired bland white guy in black trunks with tattoos that basically ruined my enjoyment of the WWE product from the time it caught on until about the pipebomb. And also because he's dull as shyt. He's very smooth about being dull, but that's what happens when you have one match.
