If people have any requests for future wrestlers you want to see evaluated, let me know. I'll have one wrestler evaluated for each week every Wednesday. The leaderboard is updated every 5 threads so it's never too late to vote for previous threads.

For the month of October I thought to go with the theme of veterans who still are with the WWE.

So for #58, the thread will be about John Cena.

Pending requests: Ted DiBiase, Jake The Snake Roberts, Big Show, Rikishi, The Godfather, Stan Hansen, Christian Cage, Goldust, Eddie Gilbert, Scott Hall, Alex Wright, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Dusty Rhodes, Triple H, Chris Candido

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

Strong ass 7.5-8 personally.

On paper he should have been Wrestlecrap personified, but he always made that shyt work.

He was more than serviceable in the ring (to the point of being fairly underrated as a big man), was even more believable that he would fukk you up than even Taker in his prime and was just a classic overall character.

It's almost a shame he was so giving and didn't play politics more because he could and should have had a career comparable to Taker off of presence alone.

i voted a 6.

prime full suit Kane from back in the day is a solid 9 to a 10 in my eyes...

everything since they started showing his skin and killing off the storyline has been 6 and below...have not been interested in this guy for a decade...him and big Show just come out to bore the fukk out of me and cool off people's momentum.

7. One of the most entertaining big men, from the Big Red Retard to unmasked psycho Kane to Korporate Kane. :myman:

Not gonna write a long one, but his random tag team match-up game >>>

He teamed up with X-Pac, RVD, and :bryan: and helped ALL teams get over.

8. I miss my nikka :mjcry:

GOAT spinoff character.

One of the GOAT debuts.

Could be used/plugged in to give any wrestler needed credibility.

A part of many really fun/memorable tag teams.

Single handedly made Raw watchable in 03 when HHH made it unwatcheable.

8...

I wish he had more creative control over his character honestly... How'd he go from not being able to talk, to being able to talk with a voice machine to being damn near entry level human resources director :stopitslime:

can't deny his longevity
he is a spectacle
he is athletic
Top notch performer

just under the "just under 10" field...so an 8 is where he lands for me... with the UTMOST respect :salute:

and just for fukks sake Kane was HOH

I'll give him a 7

Gimmick is 10. This is the guy went from Isaac Yankem DDS in 95, Fake Diesel in 96 and became Kane the Undertakers brother in 97 for something that was suppose to last till WM. Kane was probably his last chance to make it in the WWF with the gimmick and boy did he make that work. How many guys have comeback from 2 horrible gimmicks, let alone ones back to back? He never left the company and made his name elsewhere and then comeback again, with hype on his name, he stayed and kept on banging.

Mic work a 5/6, was good at the comedy sketches and really sinister when he was a heel. But for long stretches of his career didn't really talk that much, not that he needed to anyway. Probably had alot more potential to do more with the promos, but he was a monster and classic monsters like Michael Myers and Jason never spoke either.

Cannot think of a singles match off my head that I can think he was great in. But I will say he is a good tag team wrestler and good at gimmick matches.

Kane/Undertaker feud, classic. Matches are shaky but everything getting to the matches A+

O.G Kane should of had a longer run as champ. He was too unstoppable, he was Braun in 97/98

Mic work/promos: 8
When he removed the mask and was given more room to develop his character, he always excelled in promos. He had the perfect evil demonic voice and showed some range with his later Corporate Kane character and his comedic segments with Daniel Bryan.

Personality/gimmicks: 10
Who would have thought that the guy who played an evil dentist and a fake Diesel would later have one of the greatest characters of the Attitude Era? That feat alone is worthy of a 10. The masked Kane character is one of my all time favorite characters and was extremely dominant in the peak period of the Attitude Era.

Later in his career, he was able to successfully transition into the unmasked Kane character and took his psychotic side to the next level. Jumping people in the hospital, tombstoning old women, setting people on fire, electrocuting testicles, and the list goes on. :damn:

He also was given some atrocious storylines like the infamous Katie Vick storyline, the Lita pregnancy angle, feuding over spilled coffee with Chris Jericho, the "May 19th" storyline, the John Cena-Eve-Zack Ryder angle, and chasing around Edge who had taken Paul Bearer hostage. Despite all those questionable storylines, he still managed to move past them and gave us some memorable moments. In recent memory, his Hell No tag team with Daniel Bryan was a highlight of his career and helped elevate Bryan's status in the company.

Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 6
Feuds: vs Undertaker, vs Daniel Bryan, vs Shane McMahon

On paper, he sounds like a great worker: An agile giant who can effectively play a great character. Sounds just like The Undertaker but for some reason Kane doesn't have many classic matches. One possible reason for the limited number of great matches is Kane being a perfectionist who didn't really like improvising in the ring. I can't remember where I heard this (it might have been from the Edge and Christian podcast when he was a guest) but it would explain a lot.

Overall rating: 7
I was torn between 7 and 8 but I gave a 7 because of his limited catalog of great matches. He was a versatile character and a dependable employee for the WWE for many years. Easily a Hall of Famer and an important figure during the Attitude Era. He also was humble and didn't really like the spotlight which is unfortunate because he could have accomplished much more in his career.

8. He's on the list of wrestlers that people can buy going toe to toe with the Undertaker and even see him winning. He also worked great as a team with the most random people (Daniel Bryan, X-Pac, RVD). X-Pac's career never really recovered after he turned on Kane because that team was so over with the crowd. And he had the "wrestler you least want to mess with :merchant:" aura in 1997-1998 and then in 2003.

8 tempted to give a 9. If you would have told me in summer of 97 that the guy playing isaac yankem and the fake diesel would not only be of of the longest tenured guys on the roster but would have a hall of fame career 20 years later id say you were fukking nuts. Even when they made him look bad he was still 100% believable as a monster. Should have had a good title run . Good in the ring. I made a post about it but the build starting april or May that taker had a secret, to the reveal in late June tat the secret was taker had a brother, to him finally making his reveal in October at badd blood was one of the best builds and reveals in company history, easily top 5. I'm very tempted to give him a 9 now that i think about it....i think i will
