On the mic..never cared for anything he said but he was ultra fluent from day one as a big man worker. Personally? I loved Bam Bam more than anyone but Bossman was going strong into 90. We used to do his Bossman slam finisher too because no one kicked out it pre Hogan feud. It wasn't as GREAT OR LEGENDARY as the Jake DDT, Perfect Plex, or Rude Awakening but it stood out to me.

I don't watch any of his old matches except when Rock tried to kill him in 99 and the VHS recording I got of him and Hogan on SNME in the blue cage...the Zeus "No Holds Barred" shyt was cracking back then. Lol. He layed Hogan out after the match.

- Mic work/promos
  • B- : not a top tier promo but he gave classic rock-n-wrestling promos as a heel and a babyface, and good goon-promos as a member of the corporation.
-Personality/gimmicks
  • A- : both big bubba rogers and bossman were just dope as hell as babyface and heel. He was part of the megapowers buildup which got me into wrestling...then the babyface turn was dope and i got into him. His toys were dope too with the nightstick. I was really into bossman as a kid....and his run in the late 90s had no business being as good as it was.
-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)
  • B : way faster than he should've been for his size. He has inspired a lot of wrestlers today. Great worker and somewhere around the bigelow/vader tier to me. Best feuds: the megapowers, Nailz (this was dope as a kid...nailz was scary :lupe: ), al snow, and whoever vince and shane threw him at.
I'm right between 8 and 7. I'm going to look at some previous votes of mine to be consistent then decide.

EDIT: i gave bigelow a 7, rvd and simmons 8s...i'll give bossman a 7.

And so i'm the first to post it  :

Al had no idea. :mjcry:

The Kennel From Hell match was :mjlol:. Was that another Russo idea?

Yeah. Russo was the best and worst thing to happen to bossman. He made him relevant again in the corporation, and gave him multimonth feuds....some of his biggest moments ever are in this era....and then he hung him in a cage, and made him fight a match with dogs pissing and shytting everywhere.

-Mic work/promos: Always solid on the mic. 6.

-Personality/gimmicks: 8. Big Boss Man is one of the great WWF gimmicks. Works really well as either a heel or a face. Really the only Ray Traylor gimmick I enjoyed.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): At his peak, I'd give the guy a 7. He lost a LOT of weight in the WWF when he turned face and improved his work rate. Dude was very quick and agile for his size. I think we missed out on a few classics just because of the landscape of the company at the time.

My favorite feuds are with Hogan and the entire Heenan Family, specifically Mr. Perfect. Although I think he and Rude could've had a great feud if Rude didn't jump to WCW. His feud with the Mountie was a natural fit and entertaining as well.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores: 7.

Had a great worked uppercut and could move for a big man. Solid worker, memorable face theme, great golden age gimmick(big boss man) and was also dope as a more bar room brawl type Big Bubba Rogers. Had a good run in the late 90's in the corporation with one of the GOAT wrestling quotes.Taking the superplex from Hoegan in the cage was one of the GOAT SNME moments. Don't think I've ever heard anyone say a bad thing about him. I'll go with a 7

HEY PAUL WIGHT. :steviej: YOURE A NASTY b*stard. AND YOUR MOMMA SAID SO :umad:

The Busta Rhymes/ Matrix leather suit Show was wearing at the funeral looks like it's made out of a whole cow:ohhh:

The Big Boss Man character change from the 80's was .:mindblown:

I watched him when I was a kid, and he was just the 'hard time' cop guy who feuded with Nailz.:ehh:

When I started watching again around this time - he was an insane crooked cop. :gucci:

Dude went from Hoyt to Alonzo real quick:picard:
