Dude had an amazing presence about himself, and was a legit big man. He was massively over around 96/97, and the crowd was on fire and fully behind him during his feud with HBK (though I don't remember if that was also the time they were souring on HBK :pachaha:). He could talk, even though his promos never really made sense, but had so much charisma you kinda overlooked that. I can't list any classics he had, but I'm sure his 6 man tag with HBK and Ahmed Johnson vs Vader, Owen, Hart and British Bulldog was my favorite. The atmosphere was outrageous. Guess if I gave Scott Steiner an 8, I'd give him though same. he had an amazing presence in the ring, was over as shyt in the WWF and pretty over in WCW as well, though there was so much garbage in WCW during his last stint, everything sort of blends together. Wish he had a more prolonged WWF run, or I wish WCW had lasted longer for him to have a more solid run. He never spent more than 2-3 years in either fed at a time, and a fraction of that in ECW. I would have liked to know how he would have fared with 5+ year prolonged stints in either fed.

Mic work - very solid; can make you :russ: or go
Personality - psycho gimmick is pure gold, not as much as a face though..for a juiced up redneck from arkansas, its amazing how over he was at times
Ring Work - was not a good worker but could be carried to a great matches...his final, full time WWE stint is prolly the best period of his whole career

overall give him a solid 6

Not great on the mic (some of it is ironically bad, like funny but not actually good mic work).

Not great in the ring - did get carried to some good/fun matches, but never considered a great worker.

Was never really a big draw - had chances in WCW and WWF and never really moved the needle.

GREAT personality, GREAT charisma, GREAT big man. Was part of some very entertaining moments in wrestling, good storylines, and got himself very over in WWF 96/97.

His "Millenium Man" WCW run was trash to me. That era of WCW was so bad in general, that it's tough to actually find any positives. But I just don't remember ever being interested in Sid during that time frame.

All in all, I think 5 is a fair score for him.

Vague 6

I liked him as a big man. He had that intimidating presence about himself.

One of my favorite powerbombs came from him. Good ole standard powerbomb.:ehh:

I still remember when he broke his leg tryna jump off them ropes.

Imma give him a 6. :manny:

Another good choice

I've always been on the fence about Sid, I remember being a kid and I would get worried when he came out to face a wrestler I liked as he was very believable.

I know a lot of people like him on the mic for the jokes but it was very cringe worthy.

In the ring I say he was above average when motivated

I always felt like he wasn't ever really into being a wrestler just his size made it easier

Like someone else said really good powerbomb and I still mark out while watching him do it on old matches

Overall I guess I never really cared either way about Sid even though I understand he really stood out to a lot of people

I gotta give him a 6 just a little above average

:salute:I'm starting to look forward to these threads

-Mic work/promos: 6 On the one hand, he's responsible for some of the most hilariously retarded botched promos in history. On the other hand, when he was good, he was REALLY fukking good. That quiet-yet-intense, talking through gritted teeth, barely controlled rage style he had was so effective at conveying to the viewer that this is a violent motherfukker who you DO NOT want to fukk with.

-Personality/gimmicks: 8 Dude had some very unique charisma. There's never been a big man quite like him, before or since. He was always over everywhere he went. Played the psycho character so well that it seemed like a shoot. Hell, based on backstage stories, it may well have been a shoot.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) 4 Can't say he was good. Even comparing him just to other guys of his size he's probably below average. With that being said, him beating the fukk out of someone was never unconvincing, so he wasn't completely terrible.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

I gave Goldberg a 7, and I think that's a fair grade for Sid too. His peak wasn't anywhere near as high as Goldberg's, but he was more consistently entertaining throughout his career and had greater longevity. Sid would (and should) have been a main eventer in any promotion in any era, so I can't see him lower than a 7

He's in my top five. Not because of his ring work because he wasn't very good but he did entertain me. From his WWE promos with his music playing in the background to his overall charisma. Defeated Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels for the title and eliminated Hogan from the Rumble. I wish we could get another WWE run but it's doubtful. Definitely needs to be in the HOF.

I rank him a 6.

Dude looked like a star and had insane presence and charisma and was always over with the fans. Fans violently turned on HBK during his 1st baby face title run in favor of Sid. :mjlol: Terrible wrestler tough.

-Mic work/promos: 6. His promos were a train wreck, but his charisma sold it.

-Personality/gimmicks: 9

-Ring work: 3. Rare for him to be carried to a good match, even with a great worker. Honestly, there are no matches that jump out to me.

Overall: 7

I think it'd be alright to see some breakdowns of Edge in here so maybe we can add him to the list? :lolbron:
