With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Eddie Guerrero in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

-Mic work/promos
  • 7 - personally i think hes overrated here, and his wcw promos were pretty bad. Late wwe he improved on the mic
-Personality/gimmicks
  • 9 - almost a ten. Turned a lot of bullshyt into gold. And in matched lived his lie cheat steal gimmick even as a babyface
-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)
  • 10 - its fukking eddie guererro. Feuds vs rey, jbl, brock, angle, benoit, were all classic
Overall - 9

I gave him a 10. One of the greats to ever be in the ring. Could work so many different styles and knew how to make crowds react to whatever his character was, his opponent, the feud or the match. I agree his mic work wasn't the greatest in WCW or even his early WWF stuff, but he was always relevant, always had a connection to the crowd and when they let him go, he'd always have one of the best matches on the card. He had a lot of classics but think he was just about to enter the HBK stage of his career where the feuds and matches he would have been having would have been some of the best work of his career. RIP Eddie. I think, for me, he is pushing on my Top 5 in ring wrestlers of all time if he's not already there.

We throw around GOAT a lot here but Eddie was one of true GOATs

8.5 Mic work was nothing special in his early wcw days but near the end of his run there he really found his stride probably due to Bischofff not really giving him any chances to do anything to begin with other than be a good midcard lucha showcase

Personality 9.5 He was funny when he needs to be and serious when he needed to be and had charisma for days

Ringwork 10 i don't even have to say anything else. Dude was incredible

GOAT. Was basically everything you wanted in a star. Could play any role - serious heel, slimy heel, comedic heel, tweener, underdog face, etc. Had great character build at various times, was over as shyt most of his career, and got to the point where even as a heel, you really didn't want to boo him. Great themes in WCW and WWE, very good gimmicks, great moveset and finisher. Tons of very good to classic matches. His ladder match with Edge on Smackdown in 2002 was the pretty much turned him completely face initially. Him standing in the ring getting that applause from the crowd after the match even though he was a heel was something incredible to see. He had great matches with so many to name, Angle, Rey, Edge, Haas & Benjamin, Brock, and several others. He's in that elite modern wrestler category with Kurt Angle and HBK.

Ten isn't high enough. Once he found his stride on the microphone, he was pure gold. He could do serious work and seamlessly flip between serious and comedic with little effort. He always felt believable in the ring thanks to an incredible ability to work with wrestlers of seemingly every size bracket and could market as both an underdog and the bridge to Latino wrestling fans thanks to so much of his identity in the ring being tied to his lineage and the pride he took in it along with his dad, his brothers, and his nephew. He could work with luchadors, he could wrestle the mat game with guys like angle or Benoit, he could fit in a brawling style, and he never felt out of place as the smaller guy facing guys like taker or Brock either. His connection to the crowd was like one I've ne we seen either. We've seen plenty of wrestlers get booked as a face and get booed out of the building. How many guys have we seen turn heel and the crowd simply refuses to boo them? He's the only example I can recall. In fact I would argue that they never really found a way to fill the void left behind when he died. An all time great if there ever was one :smugeddie:
