With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Batista in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

Looked legit as fukk, not great in the ring but I guess he never really needed to be given his size and moveset. Had some good matches with Trips and Eddie though

Regarding promos he was mostly the silent bodyguard type so can't remember anything of note pre-05, but that Trill nikka Tista run he had showed he could cut a good promo if the circumstances dictated it

7.5 overall I guess, rounding up to an 8 because of his post-WWE stuff and his outspokenness on a lot of political issues

I used to think that but can anyone think of a time when he had a main event match that wasn't solid? He was an underrated worker. Of course there have been better powerhouse workers but he did a decent job throughout his career.

Solid 8. I like the person even more than the wrestler and I've always liked Batista. He was Sid like to me. An awkward at times but underrated performer especially when he was paired with someone he clicked with, he could definetely hold his end of the feud.

His hit my spotlight heel run was some of the most fun I saw a wrestler having in quite a while.

-Mic work/promos - 7

Pre his 2009 heel turn, he wasn't really known for giving good promos. He did have some memorable ones, like basketballs don't hold grudges but more in a meme sense and not too many from a wow he can talk sense. He was competent but unspectacular. That heel run though was so quality, like a Hollywood Rock level of arrogance and swagger on the mic. I still remember the kissing babies and hugging fat girls line he cut on Cena.
7 solely on the strength of that and some of the stuff from 2014, as I particularly remember him being funny at the WM30 press conference.

-Personality/gimmicks - 7

Deacon Batista was very brief and almost forgettable but it was his intro to the company. As Evolution's Animal it worked. As he eventually outgrew the group, they let him show he had brains as well as muscle when HHH was manipulating him in the build to WM 21. His heel turn on Rey that lasted till he left was a personal GOAT level run and entertaining as hell, and once he turned in 2014 we saw glimpses of that again.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) - 7

The 2005 Elimination Chamber where he dominated is still my favorite Chamber match. His series of matches with HHH made him look legit as fukk, and HHH really went above and beyond to put him over and make him look like a star. His best matches were with Taker, I can't really recall a bad one and they battled a lot. He and Cena had really good chemistry, they clicked instantly. His 2014 run eventually produced some instant classics, the Mania triple threat, both Shield tag matches. He had some good storylines, the Eddy feud where Eddy teased turning heel. Blaming HBK for Flair retiring which eventually lead to the HBK/Jericho feud. Dude was a very good WWE main event worker.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) - 8

I think in the grand scheme of things he's pretty underrated. He could go in the ring and work the WWE style well. He eventually evolved into a well rounded performer on the mic and in ring even though his best run lasted far too briefly before he left the company. His return was mismanaged through no real fault of his own and really was a waste of what could've been even if it did produce a few great matches. Dude always seemed cool as hell and entertaining out of the ring and it's nice to see him attain success outta the business.

-Mic work/promos - wasnt the best talker by any means, but had a no nonsense intense charisma and he was believable. never felt like he wasnt ready for the main event when he got there. recently learned he was shy at cutting promos and wore shades during his later gimmick to hide the fear, never would have known that. - 7

-Personality/gimmicks - the animal is top 15 best gimmicks the company has produced in the past 20 years. - his real name sounded bad ass. no fake nxt name needed. when that guitar chord hit on his theme music u already knew someone was getting fukked up. ( how many of yall hit the fireworks gun pose). one of the best theme songs of all time from the era wwe was actually spending money on themes. - 9

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)- better than basic, even tho limited i cant remeber many matches where his limited moveset was exposed. he knew how to work to his strengths- unlike roman ( ironically batista was trained by romans uncle) classic feuds with the undertaker and edge, -6.5

-Overall rating never knew there were legit batista haters until later in life. but no one can deny he was one of the pillars of the 06 smackdown era with edge, eddie, taker and mysterio. made the world heavyweight championship look more important than the wwe championship in the spinner belt/ cena era ( for a short period) and the turn on orton and hhh with the thumbs down is legendary. a future hall of famer and one of the top stars of the ruthless aggression era. glad to see his success has continued with the movies. 8.5

Great on the mic, especially as a heel, always very over, was just OK in the ring though, nothing worth going out of your way to see but he could hold his own.

overall ima give him an 8

during the mid to late 2000s era I fukked with Batista the most out of the rest of the top guys tbh. That entrance with the fireworks was lit everytime :wow:

Batista is more hard on himself as a worker than anybody else is tbh I always felt he was solid and he's had alot of matches that I really enjoy. Batista vs Taker lowkey one of my favorite feud + mania matches.

he was pretty forgettable as a promo until that heel turn tho. I was really enjoying him during his last run too :ehh:

Solid 8 for me. Seeing his evolution was great (yea yea I know). Never thought the dude that was initially Deacon Baustista could turn into such an appealing wrestler. Had he been younger when he debuted, he would have done even better than he dude. For a big man, I think he was a fairly underrated worker. Had a bunch of good matches with Rey, Taker, HBK, and several others. He looked like a bad ass, and carried himself like one. Always liked how impactful his moves looked early on in his career (and I'm saying early on cause things he was doing in 2003 looked vastly different than 07 and on, age was creeping up). Everything he did was believable. Great theme, entrance, notable feuds, decent talker as a face and very good talker as a heel (especially in his spotlight heel run), and did everything he exceeded what people thought he should have. His last run was botched cause of weak booking and not himself, cause he admitted that he should have been heel the entire time. Major mess-up by the WWE. I also dig him catching on to big things outside of the WWE, making them need him more than he needs that. I'll give any wrestler props for doing that, knifing the WWE right in the stomach.

Solid 7.

In the beginning Batista was green as hell and really didn't move me, but there's no denying that his work ethnic and passion for the business is top notch. His mic work was trash as a face, but GOATier during his heel run:blessed:.

This line alone put him on the radar as a legit bad ass. Plus his matches were a mix between alright to fukking ruthless:huhldup::whoo::whoa:. His Taker match at WM 23 was mad slept on at the sheer savagery Bats put Taker through in that match.

Bottom line, Batista is an example of a powerhouse wrestler done right despite some flaws that are easily ignored.

Overall a 8 to me. Wouldn't rank him up there with the GOATs off of his resume, but he definitely was good-great for the most part.

Without a doubt, he had IT in spades and was a made man from the second he left HHH.
He definitely had the silent killer charisma, but he was underrated at talking when the opportunity presented itself. His spotlight polo shirt kissing fat chicks run is one of the GOAT post attitude era runs and was cut short way too early. Dude was :wow:

I know out of the ring stuff doesn't count but I can't help but to salute his honesty and Bret Hart like lack of fukks regarding him speaking out against shyt he doesn't like (especially the Titus situation)

-Mic work/promos: 7. Much better doing promos as a heel than a face (where he always seemed a bit unnatural).

-Personality/gimmicks: 8. One he became simply "Batista", he almost always looked like a cool bad ass (other than his last run when he became Bluetista).

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 6. Not a great wrestler on his own, but he had good chemistry with a lot of people. Of all the roided up "big man" rasslers over the years, Batista is easily one of the best workers of that bunch. Best matches and feuds were against Undertaker, Cena, and Edge.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 7.

I didn't know about that. :ehh:

It definitely helped because he improved during that time.
