Dude was the precursor to a RVD or Young Bucks as thr egotistical but talented high flyer. Decent enough on the mic and carried Sandman and a young Buff Bagwell to respectable tag team matches. His moves are still impressive to this day. One of the all time underrated talents. He gets a 9 from me

-Mic work/promos - This is where admittedly he didn't shine....he was a basic plain promo outside of ECW...could get his point across with no issues...his shoot interviews are gold :pachaha: 6

-Personality/gimmicks - 2 cold scorpio wasn't really a gimmick...outside of the dancing..just a dope ring name of a cat with a lot of charisma and personality...he was over in WCW and super over in ECW..."2 gold" though was classic as hell to me....and got a good reaction in WWE as Flash Funk...speaking of that gimmick considering he signed on pre attitude era im trying to figure out how that and funkettes didn't get super over but Godfather and his hos did...I guess the gimmick was too early..but he was never not over..give him 9

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) - 10..my man was an innovator with the high flying..scorpio splash, tumbleweed, drop da bomb moonsault legdrop...all legit finishers...before 2 cold how many cats his size did you see fly like that? and not just black wrestlers either..in his era there were wrestlers in north america who called themselves high fliers but were basic as hell (*cough*brian pillman*cough*) but he wasn't no spot monkey..he could actually wrestle and workin wcw he had good matches with the likes of chris benoit and barry windham before making a makeshift tag team with buff bagwell actually work..they had several good tag matches..esp with nasty boys..in ecw he had good/great matches with malenko, sabu, rvd, taz, guerrero, jericho, douglas, whipwreck...carried sandman as a tag team to good matches...a legend in japan...even at 51 he can still go in the ring..unfortunately he never had the opportunities to work with uppercard in the wwe all that much unless he was jobbing :francis:..but he did have a gem of a match with al snow at IYH: its time

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) 9.5...WWE dropped the ball with him...dude could outwork anyone in the roster from 96-99 and never got that chance..its a shame..all he needed was a chance and he would been an undisputed legend...a personal GOAT to me and to anyone who knows wrestling

Mic work/promos: N/A
Didn't hear enough of his promos to really give a good rating.

Personality/gimmicks: 6

That Flash Funk gimmick in WWE wasn't great but he still managed to have great matches. He also didn't have a problem connecting with crowds. I didn't like having him join the J.O.B. Squad. He's way better than that. :martin:

Also who could forget that classic duo of Terry Funk and Flash Funk? :skip: That's such a Vince move. :lolbron:

-Ring work: 10

He was doing flippy shyt before people were calling it flippy shyt. A great innovator and extremely entertaining in the ring. He has lots of good matches but one that is noteworthy is Val Venis' debut match in WWE. It's probably one of the best debut matches that I've seen (besides Nakamura vs Zayn at NXT Takeover).

Favorite matches/feuds: vs Val Venis, vs RVD, vs Chris Benoit, vs Sabu, vs Shane Douglas

Here's the Benoit match at SuperBrawl 3

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 8

A top worker with great matches who is always pulling out crazy moves. I feel that he should have accomplished more in his career but he's a personal favorite of mine. I'm glad for the WWE Network because I've been able to develop greater appreciation for wrestlers I didn't watch growing up like Bam Bam Bigelow, Bret Hart, and 2 Cold Scorpio.

when i was a kid my mom came home with this random WCW vhs called "New Blood On The Block"
51DD348R2DL.jpg

I used to watch this video all the time...it put me d with Cactus Jack, Abdullah The Butcher, all 4 guys on the cover and more...one of my first official introductions to WCW......

But this video plays at one point in the vhs...and for that I have always held 2 Cold Scorpio/Flash Funk/etc in high regard...

A 6 due to being a low-key innovator and a personal favorite of mine, but unfortunately was a relative footnote in the industry for the masses. Probably could have done more in the WWF, but his ceiling was capped almost immediately with that Flash Funk gimmick, and even more from being in the JOB Squad. Had probably one of the most standout move-sets you could possibly have, and was very smooth even with being so high risk. I only remember his promos with Ron Simmons in ECW, which he was pretty basic yet stood out a pinch, but Simmons was the star of those. Outside of teaming with Buff Bagwell in WCW, I couldn't tell you any memorable feuds, nor classic matches, but he had the potential for both. I do remember this match he had with Al Snow (as Leif Cassidy) that was a complete contrast to what the WWF was doing at the time, and the crowd was pretty subdued even though a lot was going on. I also think it's pretty cool how he can still move relatively the same even at 51 years old. He's 5 years older than RVD, but during his last WWE run, RVD looked completely washed like he was 60. I kind of want to rate him higher, but I feel like a 6 is about all I can do, mostly because he had such a ceiling over him, and I couldn't rate him higher compared to other guys.

-Mic work/promos: 4...?

-Personality/gimmicks: 6. Dude had some swag as 2 Cold Scorpio. HATED the Flash Funk gimmick though. His "2 Gold" Scorpio run in ECW was entertaining from what I've seen.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): Honestly can't name a single match that stands out but he was probably a 5 in the ring. But, dude could definitely pull off some cool moves that surprised you for a guy his size.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 5
