With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Andre The Giant in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

10.

Dude helped put the wwe on the map.

His fued with hogan and big john stud is legendary.

During his physical prime he was a pretty agile worker for his size.

There would be no big show without Andre.

There would be no hogan without Andre.

Wrestlemania wouldn't be the spectacle that it is without Andre.

His legacy is an undeniable 10.:yeshrug:

It's kinda hard to really judge him because there isn't much of his prime on tape. Now, everything that is available from that time leads to think that Andre was dope as fukk and knew how to work a match and a crowd like the best of them. He also had matches ranging from fun to great with a lot of different opponents. That's not easy to do.

I voted 7 but if more stuff like the Houston footage of NWA on Demand and his work in Japan become available he could probably get as high as 9 :wow:

From his prime :wow:

:salute: for posting this and not the more famous 82' match from New Japan. People need to watch more prime Andre.

-Mic work/promos
  • 7 - language barrier was tough but as a kid it made him more menacing or more humorous.
-Personality/gimmicks
  • 10 - there is almost no comparison
-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)
  • 8 - believe it or not he was a GREAT worker...He couldn't move at all but he sold emotions with his face with almost no peer...His fear of Damien was maybe my favorite thing in wrestling ever.
-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)
  • 9 - only loses one point because of physical limitations.

Mic work/promos 7. He was good for his time. I don't have a real standout promo but he could sell a match and be menacing enough to make you root for the good guy.

-Personality/gimmicks 8. Big tall Giant. People loved him. He had a great personality. But then also had a Good gimmick as the evil bad guy too.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) 6. Obviously for his size and stature he wasn't going to be the best of workers but he got the job done well. Especially during his younger years.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) 9. Legacy and impact justifies this high rating. A legend. Good worker for what he was capable of. Legendary career.

Would have to give him an 9 based on legendary status being a breakthrough wrestler, even though he was far out of his wrestling prime when I was watching him. He's probably like the Ice-T or Kool Moe Dee or wrestling, to where even though you may not have seen his work in his prime, you definitely felt it way later and know what he brought to the business. He's on the Mt. Rushmore of wrestling, and you can't take that away from him. Can't really give the 1st giant of wrestling who played a part in the foundation of wrestling lower than that.
