With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate DDP in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

The man is a little short of legendary, but he was a success, pulled money, had tremendous crossover appeal. Everyone football player was doing the diamond cutter gesture. Didn't really watch his WWF shyt, but WCW his build up to being a main eventer was epic and memorable as hell. His Goldberg shyt, Kanyon stalker shyt, even the later WCW still standing shyt with Steiner, Raven and Benoit.

Just got over and worked.

Mic Work - 5 not terrible, not great on the mic, but he had great catch phrases and it worked and really got over.
Personality / Gimmick - 10, self high five, BANG, diamond cutter out of nowhere, it worked, was was great and he pulled it off the best way possible.
Ring work - 8 I thought his ring work for his style was excellent.

Overall - I'll put him at a 8, I'm thinking 9, but I'll stay with 8, don't want to inflate the scores.

City of Angels :blessed:
Mic work/promos
6 - nothing memorable, but nothing terrible. he was above average on the mic and had some great catchphrases.

-Personality/gimmicks
9 - one of the most over babyfaces of the 90s, great character and larger-than-life persona that transcended wrestling, along with the most recognizable hand signal in wrestling history.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)
8 - Really good style and had some great matches in the late 90s, gets an extra point for popularizing one of the greatest finishers in wrestling history.

OVERALL: 8.5... but since the poll doesn't allow for half points, i'm saying 8

He played a pretty good mid-card heel and developed into a solid believable main eventer. His variations of the diamond cutter were dope and pretty over.Overall, He was a solid talker and a brawler. I think his feud with macho man is when he became legit and a made-man. His WWE run was Ok, the stalker gimmick was lame but his Positivity Paige gimmick was awesome ,

I gave DDP an 8.

-Mic work/promos
  • 7 - they were usually short, ended with his catch phrase, were about a FIGHT and simple to sell the match. What you want but not legendary
-Personality/gimmicks
  • 9 - SELF HI FIVE is dope asf, he came across as a dirtbag or a bouncer but still cool somehow...like a median of steiner and raven...he was all about a fight too...no other bullshyt...
  • Selling his ribs for two years straight was a great gimmick
  • The jersey shore tough guy schtick was fire
  • Id give him a ten if not for his wwe gimmick.
-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)
  • 8 - sold great, a GOAT finisher, and got over as a mug in the ring. He was a brawler, and a very good one. Stayed true to his character...no flippy shyt no submissions...just brawling and a finisher.
  • His fued vs savage was fukkin incredible...him vs raven was ravens best work ever...and slept on: his fued vs GOLDBERG was dope. The nWo acknowleding their history and recruiting raven to no avail was great....its like hall gave page IMMUNITY vs the nWo...great shyt

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)
  • 8 - strong eight. A short run but i loved it. I was hopeful for his wwe run but i dont care...96-99 is as good a 3 year run and buildup as anyone.

For as late a start as he got ring wise, he was a very good worker. The knock some make on him not deserving to be WCW champ because of his relationship with Bischoff is bullshyt. He was one of the most over dudes on the roster and the crowd popped crazy when he gave the diamond sign, and hit the Diamond Cutter outta nowhere way before Klandy.

-Mic work/promos: 8-Very capable on the mic and I gave him an extra point for calling Hoegan "Hollywood Scum Hogan" on a weekly basis in '98.

-Personality/gimmicks: 9

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) 8-Very good worker. His feud with Savage was amazing, match at Halloween Havoc with Goldberg in '98 was one of Goldberg's best matches.

-Overall rating: 8

I basically missed DDP's career being a WWE mark and by the time the invasion happened I don't think I really evaluated him properly, but the Network has shown me the light. Dude was a GREAT worker.

Not an all-time great on the mic, which is probably the only let down but he still managed to get himself over with money catchphrases and the Diamond Cutter sign.

Basically invented the RKO out of nowhere with all the Diamond Cutter variations... DDP could end a match from almost anywhere, which definitely kept crowds engaged.

As a worker you could tell he WORKED at it. Dude sweated for every second of screen time he got and was in ridiculous shape.... and still is... and is now keeping ME in shape. fukking legend.

Overall I'm giving him a 9 - if I had to go solely on his in ring, maybe an 8, but his all-round nice guy image that nobody seems to ever question, DDP Yoga and Jake's resurrection are worth at least an extra point.

An entry for the nicest guy in wrestling?:salute:
