With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Terry Funk in these categories:

-Mic work/promos

-Personality/gimmicks

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)

No denying his commitment and dedication, but 95% of what I've seen was after his 65th retirement in the mid 90's so it's skewed somewhat

Great promos, never liked him as a wrestler aside from his complete lack of caring about whether he gets killed or not

He does get a bonus point for threatening to beat up a horse though

First saw him as a kid and was scared as hell from him lol

from what I've seen he was an icon and a better than average character over the years. I'd say 7. 8-10 are slightly higher to me (in my book) but definitely great.

Greatest northamerican wrestler ever imo. If I wasn't such a big Misawa stan he'd be the GOAT wrestler I've ever watched. Dude was amazing in the ring in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Then he went full fukkery and still tried his best to have entertaining matches in the last 20+ years. One of the best tag team wrestlers ever. Awesome heel and damn good babyface. Great promo too.

God always tried to make a match entertaining and always tried to make it feel like he was on the brink of losing his shyt and do something crazy and "not planned". Even old and broken down he could make a depressing "legends" Battle Royal in PWG something fun to watch.

GOAT freelancer too. Everywhere he went he made the product better, put people over and made people look like stars or helped them make some sort of leap.

The only "hole" I have from God is his late 90's WCW work but even if it's complete garbage, he has too many decades of greatness for it to mean something.

One of the biggest travesties in wrestling is not having any full footage of him in the territories during his run as NWA champ, as well as his runs in Florida and his homebase of Amarillo.

He's a 10 no doubt about it.

if there was one wrestler who truly adjusted the times, its Terry Funk

he is one of the few old timers that actually added more modern moves to his moveset..for better or for worse...i mean i used to be amazed when i saw dude break out different variations of the moonsault

was a damned good wrestler and brawler...favorite match is the I quit match with Flair at Clash of the Champions

great promos and personality

give him a strong 8

There wasn't anything that Terry Funk couldn't do inside or outside the ring. Could work, could cut a promo as a heel(Calling folks egg sucking dogs, etc) or as a face(FOREVER!, FOREVER!!!) had one of the GOAT level entrances themes to go along with Gary Michael Capetta introducing him:lawd:

His late 80's NWA feud with Flair is one of my favorites

Most of what I saw from Terry Funk, he was way out of his prime, though he put on some brutal (in a good way) matches in the early-mid 90s), so I can't give him a completely fair assessment. I'll just give him a solid 7 due to promos, having a very lengthy career, and knowing he won so many titles, thus attaining legend status. If I were to give him a rating based on when I really started watching him consistently, I wouldn't give him more than a 4. He was simply Mick Foley's right hand man in 98 vs the Outlaws and protecting him from Undertaker (or attempting to lol), and in WCW, he was pretty much a waste, competing in really bad matches in the Hardcore division and in general. The match with Kevin Nash :scust:

Damn can't believe I almost missed this thread

I'm gonna keep this one kinda short I'm giving him a ten I may add more later but short on time now

Obviously I wasn't old enough to see a majority of his career but I've watched enough to know he is a one of a kind talent that brought alot to professional wrestling

-Mic work/promos - incredible, one of the most believable ever on the microphone

-Personality/gimmicks - still not sure if it was a gimmick or just himself but the craziness during his matches always entertained me

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) - really good andnhelped establish so many top stars over the years, whether it was as a bad guy pissing off the faces or the loveable underdog he told a story like no other

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) - 10

I dont get why he never gets any love as the best of all time I mean I would choose him over flair any day

8.

As a promo, the guy was off the fukking chain. He went HARD as a heel... even when I knew he was intentionally heeling he still made me :pacspit:despite knowing he always seemed like one of the "nicer" guys backstage.

Ringwise, his brother probably had the edge, but the Funker is the Funker and he'll never be emulated.

I just wish he'd retired (at least) 15 years ago.
