I agree. I only liked the first season. I was unable to watch the second season because it was that damn boring. they should of stuck with the original cast and made the story much longer. these people fukked it up. this can't be life :why:
It's HBO and Pizzolato's fault season 2 wasn't up to snuff. HBO made him write it in a year while he spent years on TD season 1. Pizzolato for some reason hated Cary Fukunaga who is a fantastic director and was a huge part of why season 1 was so amazing. They should've made season 2 only have Colin Farrell's character and Rachel McAdams as the leads just like the first season focused on McConaughey and Woody. Too many random shytty side characters in season 2. Colin Farrell was fan-fukking-tastic though, in my opinion.

Season 2 sucked. And I thought the first season was solid but WAY overrated. I wouldn't mind seeing a new writer take a shot though, and if the ball is dropped in the third season just wrap it up.

S2 was very flawed and indulgent, but still more interesting than most hyped shows to me. I'm down for S3, but it's probably best to wait to get the right team together, even if it takes 2-3 more years.

Good. Better to get rid of Pizzolatto instead of scrapping the whole franchise.

well, this show has jumped the shark :manny:

Season 1 was amazing (thanks to the directing and characters)
Season 2 sucked (for all the above mentioned reasons)

I have very little hope for season 3. It looks like this was just a one and done type of show :manny:

Colin Farrell was the only redeeming thing from season 2

Well, there was no plagiarism accusations in season 2. So I don't know if they just dropped the ball, or if season 1 was good because they stole shyt.

They need to bring back Rust and Marty with a new writer.

Fukunaga is a damn good director. Also season 2 threw too much at the well... it wasn't kept tight. Talked about what I would have done in one of the threads here.

That was like two.. hell maybe 3 different seasons worth of ideas crammed into one season:manny:
