Top Rank's initial complaint was dismissed by a judge in early October because the complaint lacked the necessary details to proceed to a jury trial so Top Rank amended their complaint and re-filed their lawsuit.

The new amended suit charges:

- PBC blocked attempts to secure the services of top level fighters like Deontay Wilder, Keith Thurman, Marcos Maidana, Lamont Peterson, Abner Mares, Adrien Broner and Errol Spence

- Listed specific examples of fights that were deterred involving fighters currently under Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) banner

- PBC is dominating the U.S. televised boxing market, citing a 3:1 balance of PBC fights on air over the past five months as opposed to events outside of Haymon’s influence

- Haymon purchasing airtime through exclusive output deals with all four major free-TV networks is preventing other promoters from working with said networks

- Cites numerous examples (through social media) of PBC fighters referring to Haymon as a “promoter”, which would conflict with his advisory role

If the judge finds that the amended complaint meets the mandated requirements then the case will move to a jury trial. At that point, it becomes up to the defendant (Haymon in this case) to disprove the allegations being made.

I don't like how on all Haymon's "advisor" contracts, he gets the last word (he has to sign off) on everything.

I always found that to be a bit too much too. Advise me on whether you think a fight is good for my career but you don't get to veto shyt.

Yep. That ruins a lot of fights that could made....a LOT of fights:snoop:

I don't like it at all:camby:

Does he veto, or just strongly advise against though? I get the feeling after listening to fighter interviews that ultimately they have the final say, but they trust Haymon's judgement to a fault.

It says it on his "advisor agreement" that he has to sign off on any move for the Boxer.

Yeah after reading that I agree the adviser has too much say at that point. I was thinking the adviser was something akin to an agent on Entourage...a la Ari Gold. That document you linked sounds more like a marriage than any advisory role. "Honey, I was thinking about playing poker with the fellas tonight but on second thought I think I'll paint the basement."

You say this but promoters do the same shyt . And they to suppose to work for the fighter.

But they are promoters...not promoters masquerading as "advisors". That's the problem.

If Haymon is a Promoter, I would have no problem with it. Being that he's claiming to only be an advisor, then why is he operating like a Promoter:manny:
