I definitely agree with you about him being too abstract. Sometimes, I feel like he makes something out of nothing and tries to pass that off as groundbreaking intelligence. However, I do find his show entertaining and I like that he promotes books on his show and has some thoughtful discussions and commentary (whether from him, is co-hosts, or guests).
