time to admit... the PS4 is a console of dissapointment

no trolling as I have two ps4's. but....

I thought this gen sony would return to its psone ps2 glory, with heavy hitters from the start. but all were getting is disspointment. from minimal dash updates, to disappointing exclusives. knack, order 1988, infamous, driveclub all these were promised to be great games but disappointing on each release.

I won't single out PS4.
It's maybe interest seems to be waning with age. The reason I haven't jumped in as yet myself.

Stop having fukking high expectations of games like they're the second coming.
Stop buying games day one at full price with them having the possibility of being ass.
Stop focusing on the AAA output of games by Sony. This may sound cliched but look at smaller titles. They might interest you more.

1/ I don't have any expectations of games
2/ I buy games on release date for full price because games are not expensive, my opinion of a game isn't linked to the monetary value of said game

xbox one had me eating from day one though. dreamcast first year was crazy, first year ps2 was nuts, first year NES and SNES also nuts

Pretty sure this comment contradicts your first statement. If you had no expectations of the games this thread would never be made. OBVIOUSLY you have some sort of riding value for these games.

I don't know where Indie games came from. Small =/= Indie all the time.

X1 started off pretty strong and up until now their exclusives are incredibly well recieved by critics.

Forza 5 is hot
Dead Rising 3 is hot
Sunset Overdrive is hot
Horizon 2 is hot
Killer Instinct is hot
D4 is hot.
Halo: MCC is fukking buggy garbage that shouldn't be touched.

...you know out of all of that, 6/7 games turning out to be not ass is pretty good for the Xbone.

If you noticed by my argument I wasn't focusing on the multiplats. Only the console exclusives. Because people buy consoles for the exclusives (or at least I hope, if you buy a multiplat game on a console and you don't have a PC then you're a fukking sucker )

I think consoles in general have been disappointing so far, but its still early in their life cycles. I didn't buy a 360 until about 2 years after it first dropped. I should have done the same this time, especially since I already have a PC. I could of had a nice collection of exclusives at a cheaper price if I waited and I get the PC version of multiplats most of the time anyway.

Can't lie though, I would have missed out on BF4 with the coli crew if I didn't. Other than that, its been pretty underwhelming.

Those first 3 are exclusives, and I feel ya. But just like how you love Crimson Dragon, that game is sitting at a 55 on metacritic. Meach loved Ryse and it's at a 60 on it. This just proves my point that you gotta know the types of games you like and go with that instead of taking these reviewers opinions as gospel.

Driveclub you claim is bad(from a review standpoint) and it's a 71 MC but yet that game has been getting extensive post launch support in the form of new content and additions besides fixes(the game was fixed long ago.)

Killer Instinct has been getting post launch support for about a year and a lot of it's major issues have been fixed.

Reviewers don't know how to review a fighting game to save their life. they don't practice the character. They don't learn the matchups. They don't go in depth with the mechanics. They play the tutorial and judge the review from off of that and the arcade mode. I would body any fukking reviewer in any fighting game, 5-0 free.

Tell me, do you follow the FGC? Because outside of the dumbass anime community that shyts on everything that isn't the anime flavor of the month, KI is incredibly well recieved by both the community and the KI players thanks to how it plays, it's characters, it's tutorial and how amazing the netcode is. It gets support from the players, and support from the devs. Which is what matters for a fighting game.

I think Driveclub is ass because I don't like how it plays. I don't like the driving mechanics.
