This needs its own thread: Someone just described Kevin Garnett as a "point forward"

Lebron is a point forward. He brings the ball up the court is the primary ball handler and is essentially Miami's point guard.

KG is just a great passing big man. It's a difference

and for the record im not laughing at what he said I just think its funny you blasted him in a new thread, I dont know how I'd get through the workday without this comedic relief
Nah mane!
There are certain things that are said in isolated threads on theColi.com that need to be brought to the attention of the general public. When I say i often read some of the dumbest shyt on here people often think i'm just exaggerating. We need to bring awareness to this.

What's so strange about that statement? He played like a point forward alot of times for the Timberwolves. I though this was common knowledge?

No. He didn't he played Like a SF. But they had POOH Richardson setting up the offense...Once they moved Googs they put KG at PF with Andrew Lang.

Wake.
I get what he was probably trying to say in that the offense would many times run through KG at the top of the key. Just used the wrong term.

I'm not talking about teenage KG. He played point forward alot of times between 2000-2005ish.

I haven't seen enough games of teenage KG to know how he was used back then. But I've watched his every game since 2000 something and there are plenty of examples of him running the offense. Flip Saunders often used him as a point forward, I don't know why people act surprised about it?

He was a point forward for half of their 2004 playoff run for Christ sakes.

Only Forwards I've seen play that deserve that distinctions are

Definite Point Forward:
  • Scottie Pippen
  • Grant Hill
  • Lebron James
I may be missing one or 2 more

Honorable mentions
  • Jamal MashBurn - When he was with the Heat
  • Lamar Odom - During his stint with the Heat and thats a stretch
  • Billy Owens - Heat and Warriors years.
  • Chris Webber and thats a stretch. He rarely brought the ball up court but did it extremely well
Yes Pat Riley was trying to turn evey forward with decent handles into the next Magic Johnson while in Miami.

The Bulls rant their offense through Luc Longley in the triangle. I wouldnt call him point forward.

Chris Webber would be another honorable mention

Whats so horribly wrong about his statement? The Wolves def ran alot of offense from KG at the top of the key

He had a 5 season stretch where he was dropping between 5 & 6 dimes a game :ehh:

I mean dude wasnt bringing the ball up the court every possession, but he definitely had the offense moving through him

He actually played point forward for the timbermolves numerous times. He would actually bring the ball up the court. Get mad and make threads with limited basketball knowledge brehs.
