Who else better to talk to these lil nikkas than those of us that done actually walked the path they're on right now

They keep getting these college kids who're straight from under mommy n daddy's roof and have zero life experience in them streets to mentor the youth out here in the local hoods and it's no wonder they aren't getting anywhere with them

They cant relate to that struggle, out here feeding these lil cats a bunch of PC cliches and twitter-logic-posing-as-"WISDOM".

If you havent lived that life you cant tell nobody how to avoid it.

I got ONE felony and it's non-violent non sexual, none of the shyt you'd be like to regarding mentoring teens from the hood.

Well what'd you think was gonna happen when you got a felony?

Look for something more informal. They aren't gonna let you certain places because of insurance and liability but there are usually programs that look for dudes who have your kind of experience. Depends what city you're in but Ceasefire is well known.

My bad brotha I was getting heated typing it, and college cats did not deserve to be referred to that way. It's not YALL fault that THEY are biased towards yall for being in those roles. Ima edit my op on that part.

And I mean I kinda get it, they want those youths to be able to look at another Black male that has made it to college etc. But the shyt aint working, for one, and two, college aint the answer for everybody and THATS the side that I know and could help them with.

I tried two separate places.

The facility that denied me the first time was a more "private owned" type of community outreach joint, and extremely church based too.

The other was the one near the college that most of the college kids work at. I didn't even get anything from them saying that I got denied, no email or nothing..I had to go down there myself after they wouldn't return my calls.

A BLACK MAN spoke with me(sounding like a cac) looking me dead in my face and told me they "cant do nothing with me" because of my record.. And he said it almost smuggish, like, "wtf made you think youd be a candidate in the first place " type shyt. On some "Duh.." type shyt, like , I shouldve KNOWN they wasn't going to fukk with me.
I pleaded my case right there on the spot with him, saying exactly what im saying in this thread..and he cut me off and stammered through some shyt about state laws and his lizard ass eyes kept darting to the door and I just said man fukk yall (in my head) thanked him and left.

I do little shyt with my nephews (2 in their late teens and one is 20, all of them brothers) and keep them lil cats straight. Money in their pocket when they need/deserve it, give them game on dealing with women and which types to avoid, got two of them coming to the gym with me on the reg.
But you right though, if I want to reach a wider group then I might need to organize my own shyt and come up with my own ways to impact and contribute
