Vampire Diaries’ spinoff The Originals to end its run after season 5...
Today’s episode is presented by T-Mobile - America’s Best Unlimited Network.
Say it isn’t so! The Vampire Diaries just finished its run on the CW, and now we’re losing The Originals, too…
The show’s Showrunner Julie Plec made the announcement that The Originals will be ending after season 5 on Twitter, just ahead of the series’ Comic-con panel later this week.
Her tweet announcement read in part QUOTE, “It’s both a gift and a burden to be able to control the ending of a series. Many shows are not lucky enough to have a hand in deciding when the end has come. Ending a show is always bittersweet, but for me, it’s a true blessing to be a part of making that choice.”
The emotional announcement comes exactly one year after Julie made the announcement about The Vampire Diaries coming to an end.
While Julie may be ready to put the show to bed, fans replied to her tweet to share their disappointment with the news. One fan tweeted QUOTE, “NO NO NO !! WE DESERVE 8 SEASONS”, while another wrote QUOTE, “Wow I kinda figured it would be ending soon but I can't believe it's official now. I think it's time to end but I'm also so sad about this.”
Meanwhile Klaroline shippers were more concerned about the fate of Klaus and Caroline’s love story, now that it was just announced that Candice King will be reprising her role as Caroline in The Original’s season 5 premiere.
