TRUE BLOOD ACTRESS JOINS DAREDEVIL AS KAREN PAGE

Deborah Ann Woll joins the Marvel-verse as Matt Murdock's famous squeeze.

Some crackerjack casting right here. Deborah Ann Woll, who plays the vampire Jessica on True Blood, has joined the cast of Netflix's Daredevil series...asKaren Page.

As EW.com reports, Woll's role is essentially the female lead of the series - Karen Page being Matt Murdock/Daredevil's longest-running love interest in the comic books. There, she served as Murdock's secretary and legal aid until, well, things got messy both romantically and Daredevil-y.

Woll joins Charlie Cox as Murdock/Daredevil, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, and Rosario Dawson as a mysterious young woman trying to bring justice to Hell's Kitchen.

MORE CASTING FOR NETFLIX'S DAREDEVIL

Falling Skies vet cast in major role.

Actor Peter Shinkoda has joined the cast of Netflix's upcomingDaredevil series - the first of four Marvel series headed to the streaming site (the others being Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage) that will lead into a Marvel's Defenders miniseries.

As Deadline reports, Shinkoda will play a major recurring role on the series named 'Hachiro,' No other formal details are known at this time.

Shinkoda is formerly of TNT's Falling Skies, and played Sektor in the Warner Bros. webseries Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

FOGGY NELSON FOUND FOR NETFLIX'S DAREDEVIL

Meet Daredevil's best friend.

The cast for Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil has gained another member: Elden Henson (The Mighty Ducks, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) joined the roster as Foggy Nelson. The character is Matt Murdock's best pal as well as his legal partner. A description from Marvel.com states, "In a town full of crime and corruption, Foggy's friendship to the community and passion for improving it have made him a friend to its many residents from all walks of life."

Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, says, "Elden plays one of the most important characters in the world of 'Marvel’s Daredevil,' and we’re thrilled to see Foggy Nelson brought to life by such an incredibly talented actor. He perfectly captures the heart and soul of this series, bringing an added resonance to Matt Murdock’s fight against the injustice in their great city."

Henson joins Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Rosario Dawson in a yet to be announced role. The 13-episode Netflix series is scheduled to premiere in 2015.

EXCLUSIVE: Set Photos and Video from 'Marvel’s Daredevil'

Filming has been underway here in New York City for Marvel's 13-episode Netflix series, Daredevil and thanks to a loyal Latino-Review reader ‘GeniusMovieMind’ we were able to obtain some 'exclusive photos' and a short video from the production set.

According to ‘GeniusMovieMind’ the PA and Grips were telling people that the filming was for a show called "Bluff" and it took place on 115th and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd (or 7th Ave) but the signs were changed so it can read 43rd and 9th Ave.

The video shows a young Matt Murdock screaming “I can’t see” and the photo shows the toxic waste truck and handful of extras.

"Marvel’s Daredevil" follows the journey of Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

"Marvel’s Daredevil" is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

I like the idea of Marvel doing their own series for Netflix. Allows them to go much darker, which is one of the reasons I didn't like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I thought it was too lighthearted and campy at times. Also curious to see how Charlie Cox is as Daredevil. I only know him from Boardwalk Empire.

Also Deborah Ann Woll is in this?

NETFLIX'S DAREDEVIL TO HAVE A "GRITTY 1970S NEW YORK" FEEL

Netflix's 13-episode Daredevil series will have a "gritty 1970s New York feel," according to showrunner Steven S. DeKnight.

Speaking at the world premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy, DeKnight said that shooting has just started in the Big Apple and is going "phenomenally well" thus far.

"We're going for a gritty, 1970s' New York feel for the show. We love the idea of beauty and the decay of the city, and Hell's Kitchen being a place that's both beautiful and gritty at the same time. And that's why Matt Murdock loves it and wants to protect it."

As for a release date, DeKnight was less revealing, saying only that it will hit Netflix "some time next year."
