I was sitting at home.. watching TV.. I couldn't move because shortie was sleep on my lap...

EVERY news channel and some talk shows had people putting buckets of ICE water on their heads... I was thinking this is some CAC shyt.......

But then I seen some black ladies participate in the "challenge".. So of course I'm like :rudy:

Why would this be suck a big deal... I barely even heard of this shyt ALS before..

So I looked on the internet:sas1:

ALS is a disorder that affects the function of nerves and muscles. Based on U.S. population studies, a little over 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year. (That's 15 new cases a day.) It is estimated that as many as 30,000 Americans have the disease at any given time. According to the ALS CARE Database, 60% of the people with ALS in the Database are men and 93% of patients in the Database are Caucasian.

30K people at a time..... Most only live a few years...
More work is needed to conclusively determine what genetics and/or environment factors contribute to developing ALS.

Apparently, being in the gulf war increases your chances --- But somehow the black Vets aren't getting it.

Then they say that " white women are more likely to be childless than Hispanic or African American women."

Yikes, now I know why there is an outcry:sas2:

I could be wrong tho:obama:

How about instead of bytching about the success of another's cause, you think of some innovative way to generate support/awareness for sickle cell anemia or some other cause near and dear to your heart?

You're not wrong.
But if the ice bucket challenge existed for a black cause, nobody would give a shyt.

How many white people did you see rocking hoodies to support the Trayvon murder?

Just sayin.
