He was probably promised the Pac-man fight, got it, BS decision had Arum and fans like :beli: and unanimously said "fukk this dude"

Maybe we can finally see Bradley-Khan (although the TR/GB problem)

What we should get is Bradley/Marquez, but Marquez ain't no undercard dude after what just happened. Rios/Alvarado 2 is ok, but unnecessary imo, Rios will stop him again

Marquez-Rios in Mexico would be :ohlawd:
with Bradley/Alvarado on the undercard
man Just make Rios Bradley JMM could go off in the sun set.

Another rumor is the fact that Peterson/**** got low balled a purse bid of 50K for the the total event with no shoe in for major network coverage that Peterson may fight Bradley, but this is all according to Bob Arum so...

So does that mean Peterson would be stripped of his title since he wouldn't be facing his mandatory?

Khan-**** for the vacant belt :ehh:

Rios/Bradley would be dope too...I can't imagine the number of headbutts with those too :ld:

edit: I forgot to mention, there's some stadium in Mexico that JMM said he always wanted to fight in (this is after the 4th Pacquiao fight) and said it would be an honor to fight there, I forget what it's called though, that's why I mentioned Rios-Marquez as a final bout in that very stadium/arena/whatever.

Rios is not a big name and it won't be a big money fight. JMM got like at least 5 million for fighting Pac. Do you honestly see him getting anything close to 5 Million for fighting a guy like Rios or Bradley?

Marquez only wants big money fight and no way he gets anything near that fighting guys like Rios and Bradley.

JMM has limited options with Top Rank. I think Marquez's retires if he does not get another Pac fight.

How is he going to get that fat pay day when he is not a PPV star? Remind me again how many PPVs he sold without Floyd and Pac as his opponent.

A lot of you guys don't know how the business works. Do you see him doing numbers fighting someone like Bradley and a fake Mexican in Rios? Bradley can't even sell out his hometown and Rios is nothing more than an undercard fighter.

Cotto is a bigger name and bigger star than JMM and he got 5 million for the Margarito rematch.

Is HBO going to pay like 7 million for a JMM fight? JMM is not a PPV fighter without an A side fighter in the ring.

Bradley/Rios vs. JMM would struggle to do numbers.

So I'm guessing you know of the big Mexican venue JMM said he always wanted to fight at and what the gate would be?

And you think he gets to keep all the gate money when he has two promoters that have to eat first?

A boxing fight is more than just a purse and live gate.

If the venue would generate more money than fighting in Las Vegas then why don't more fighters fight in Estadio Azteca? Why don't Chavez Jr and Canelo headline a fight in Mexico City if all that money is there? The fact is Canelo is a bigger star than JMM in Mexico.

Learn basic business... they can't charge the same ticket prices they do for a fight in Mexico like they do in Vegas. A lot of the tickets sold in Vegas for a big mega fight are comps given to fighters by their promoters or tickets given to the high rollers by the casinos. The live gate would have to be shared with Arum, Beltran, Mexico, etc.

How many people are going to be flying into Mexico from all over the world to see JMM fight someone like Bradley and Rios? :comeon:

I am telling you this because I am friends with a few people who work at Golden Boy and they put me on the game of boxing.

One thing you forget to answer was who is actually going to pay the winning bid for a fight to take place in Mexico.

If fighting in Mexico was so lucrative then why doesn't Arum have Manny vs. Marquez in Mexico. He already said he wants the fight to happen in the US preferably in Las Vegas or Dallas. Why does he want the fight to take place in the US and not a country like Mexico or the Philippines? He gets to eat more off a fight in the US.

Word?

Still, JMM is on the brink of retirement and that's where he said he'd like to fight if he fights again, so other wise there may not be any more JMM

Also...since you're friends or whatever, what's the happening on some GB/TR ventures, what's the hold up? We gotta see Mares/Donaire in 2013...

The fight took place at Azteca stadium, the second largest stadium in the world. The official attendance reported during the fights was 130,000 though other reports were as high as 136,274. Either way, this fight was to date the largest paid attendance ever for a boxing event. However, many of the tickets sold for a cheap 5,000 pesos, the equivalent then of $1.65. To make sure things didn't get out of hand with the huge crowd there were also about 2,000 police present–whether in regular uniform, riot gear or undercover, and some accompanied by Dobermans or uzis. The soccer field in the center of the stadium was protected by a ten foot wide moat which was lined with barbed wire. (4,000 tickets were given away by Chavez to underprivledged children.)

it would definitely only be a prestige thing, not a money thing. maybe if the fight is on PPV in the US to squeeze some extra money out of it. But it would have to be a soft touch IMO, just for a farewell.
