Tariq got the details on that Daniele Watts situation wrong. I don't want to defend a cop but the cop was actually just doing his job. She escalated the situation and made it worst, playing the race card & trying to walk away when all she had to do was show him her ID, and it would've been all over.

And another thing. Tariq hung up on that caller because the caller mentioned tommy sotomayor's name when he tried to congratulate him for bashing tommy. But yet tariq keeps talking about tommy, calling him crispy. :stopitslime: You want to keep bringing tommy up in a discussion but you don't want people to call in and say his name??? :mindblown:

Just saying...You don't have to show your ID unless your being charged with something....Now could she of given it to avoid issues yes...But why would he need her id?

A human being should be able to freely walk down the street without identifying themselves.

she got caught fukking in public and was probably asked if she was a prostitute

that hurt her ego and now we have this situation here

they were never going to be arrested, just given a citation and that was it..

.black people we take the L on this one, not every racial situation is a time machine to the civil rights era

WHO THE HELL CARES. Just show your ID, and go about your business. This the hypocrisy I can't stand with some people. You say Cac this Cac that, call them inherently racist, but surprised and get up in arms when they do racist shyt to you. Getting mad just shows you think you can change 400 years of conditioning. If the cop ain't threatening your life, let it be

Yes what the cop did was racist, but if you know they are #inherently racist, then why care? :why:

But where does it end then? Ok, blacks accept white people behaving in a discriminatory fashion on a daily basis. So what then?

If a black person is shot by a white cop for no apparent reason, should black chalk it because "we know they're racist anyway"?

If a black woman is raped by a white cop simply because he can, should black chalk it because "we know they been doing that kind of thing since slavery"?

If a black child is killed for engaging in the same kind of horseplay that other kids engage in, should we chalk it on some "well, we know that's how they are"?

See, what you're talking about is simply going along to get along to avoid any trouble. Similar to the "make no waves" theory that a number of blacks have. Like, if blacks just wore their clothes are certain way, then that would help. Or if blacks only listened to Coldplay, then that would help. Or if blacks just allowed themselves to be governed as second class citizens with no sense of equitable procedure across racial lines, then that would help.

Well, that won't work. It never has. It never will. It doesn't now. Blacks have been unjustly killed while wearing military uniforms and sagging pants. While protesting and while will their hands are in the air speaking in polite voices.

Blacks have been governed by a different sets of laws no matter what we did. Whether we sang and peacefully protested or rallied with automatic weapons.

You can't "comply" your way out of white supremacy/racism.

Peace

Just show your damn ID to the cop so that you won't get handcuffed & arrested. You don't have to get all Huey Newton & shyt.

Well, yeah, if I were in the situation I would show my ID to avoid trouble. But you don't see the problem with this though? You don't think America is an emerging police state when a cop could just randomly walk up to you and demand your ID? Aren't you the least bit disturbed by any of this?
