taper or fade (thin, receding hairline)

long journey of braids coming to an end

finally getting haircut today and my hairline is really thin and starting to recede. whats the best way to go here. fade or the taper? if fade what kind and if taper what kind?

my hair will probably be cut before i get a decent amount of responses but if anyones reading now feel free to chime in please.

But it comes down to preference. Would u rather the fade or the taper. It also depends where your hairline is receding. If your barber is nice he'll hook your hairline up to where the thin spots are blended and not noticeable. It all comes down to what you like.

I'd go with a bald fade or a shadow fade, low.
For some odd reason fades tend to look better with a receding hairline than other haircuts. If your barber uses Black Ice, ensure he's not too heavy handed with it.

yes lol im that cheap i let my home girl hook my hair up for free instead of doing the barber thing but its time to let this go. ive had braids practically all my life so i dont really know what i like im down for anything thats not bald to be honest. but really which looks best with a thinning hairline

receding at like the front perimeter area the rest of my hair perfectly fine

Get a taper please my dude trust me. If your hairline is thin and receding like you said then why the hell would you even consider a fade.

Truth be told you don't need to be considering either option at the moment. Your hairline needs to be left as is so you can retrain it and get it back to full power before you start worrying about lil cute shyt like tapers or fades.

But if your absolutely dead set on one of them then go for the taper.

lol idk im no expert of haircuts i literally had braids for like 8 years now and before that i just wore a dark ceasar with barely visible waves

yeah my hairline got the patches of bald spots i guess from so much braiding for so long its really thin and shallow

I get a low fade or a medium bald fade but I keep the top dark and I do not get it too low so that way my hairline is more filled in because the lower I go the worst my hairline will look

something like this but a lil more full mines can actually still be braided but like its thin and shallow and you can still see some scalp
