Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry said it's "funny" that, despite being the defending champs, the Warriors are not the title favorites, according to a report from CBS Sports on Wednesday.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who lost to the Warriors in six games in the NBA Finals, are the Las Vegas favorites, with oddsmaker Bovada giving the Cavs -- who will be adding a healthy Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving this season -- 11-4 title odds.

The Warriors are tied with the San Antonio Spurs -- who add All-Star big man LaMarcus Aldridge -- with the second-best title odds, 9-2.

"We obviously are the champs, and you've got to think that we're gonna be a better team next year with our experiences that we've had, and we're not the favorites," Curry told CBS Sports at the Team USA minicamp in Las Vegas. "Obviously there's been a lot of noise, teams retooling and trying to boost their lineups. You have teams that haven't set foot on the floor yet and are heavily favored to kick us off our throne."

While being tied for second in the title race odds is hardly disrespectful, even as the defending champs, perhaps this is the fuel Curry and the Warriors will use next season to prevent the complacency that can plague young championship teams.

"We obviously know what's going on," Curry said. "And it's up to us to keep our momentum that we built."

This is what happens when you play in the West, where ANYTHING can happen. The Cavs only have to worry about one team, us. And we ain't got the juice. :martin:

If I had to pick a title favorite it would be "whoever comes out of the West."

and that is a legit issue thats been going on years. The east is disgusting :scust: cant wait for Silver to make it top 16 teams make the play offs :blessed:

til then :scust:

watching some teams in the east play in the play offs is disrespectful to my eyes :scust:

Just imagine if John Wall won a chip and he never had to face derrick rose, jimmy butler then jeff teague and then lebron and kyrie.....then went to the finals against the rockets and never faced James harden or Pat Bev.

You tryna tell me the next year was would be fav to win it all :rudy:

Just enjoy your ring and ya beautiful family

only reason y'all won so easily was because cleveland's next option behind lebron was jr swish. hate this whiny ass team that wants respect for beating lebron and some fodder level players

so you just gonna ignore the warriors beat cleveland the 1st game that Kyrie played ? :dahell: why do people act like this game doesnt exist :heh:

Yeah a team who won 67 games and the title... Why the fukk should they want respect?

:stopitslime:

did they beat a cleveland at their best tho? i'm not going to pat someone on the back for beating a team with injuries that left them crippled taking out two of their next top options. i can respect them for winning 67 games but beating the cavs in that state isn't praise worthy. it would be like praising someone who won a foot race with someone who broke their toes the previous week.

:camby:

so you just gonna ignore the warriors beat cleveland the 1st game that Kyrie played ? :dahell: why do people act like this game doesnt exist :heh:

when love went down cavs chances to win it all went down but there was a slim chance to win if kyrie was able to stay in but once he went down everyone knew the warriors winning was inevitable. you beat the cavs one game in a series with kyrie who was probably playing injured and their third option already down, good job.
