He was woke to the fact that Mr. Krabs was just using it to make they work more, Sponge bob was a chump who thought it meant something.
That's why he never worked hard in that dead end job and was laughing at the lames.
Or what about that episode where he moved to the suburbs.
At first he thought it was the answer to his problems but then he realized people living there were idiots doing the same thing every day.
When he snapped outta that boredom and did something spontaneous people got mad at him...
