Now the album is in no way Harlem World obviously, but I remember loving Get Ready :stylin:

Same nikkas is 1 of the realest songs of all time. I still listen to this all the time.:mjcry:

The "Justify My Love" sample with Total singing the hook.:wow:

:whew:

I randomly gave this album a spin the other day, it was a solid project that could've had more attention had he not quit the game

Honestly I don't even remember this album dropping back in the day.

Didn't find out about until years afterwards

lol i had that Source I'm pretty sure...Ma$e was my favorite, and I remember my homie and his little brother telling me riding in the car with my Mom he had given up rap to become a minister, and I didn't believe them, or I didn't want to, I never got 'Double Up' until years and years later. I know I copped 'Harlem World: The Movement' though.

Total apathy, Mase was trash back then to me and I just discovered I could listen to underground hiphop thru Real player and record it straight to analog tape for playback in my walkman. I was on my Rawkus kick

Damn, you took a nikka back with Real player, lol. But yeah, I was on that Rawkus shyt too, but I still listened to cats like Ma$e too. He'd been 1 of my favorites rappers.

def revisited it a few times over the years and my opinion changes on it each time

Yeah, it's funny how now the album doesn't sound half as bad when you compare it to Hip Hop now.

I would keep the chain going but his G Unit stint is 1 I'd rather now even revisit now in retrospect. :mjcry:

I had Harlem World, his debut. I passed on Double Up though. It's weird because I anticipated it, but I read he left Hip Hop to become a minister, heard the single (didn't like it), read reviews, and decided not to check it out.

Yeah, he was spitting but the fact that he had flipped had made hard to accept him back on this kick. I can't even listen to this no more.
