Well everyone was waiting for it. After Spike Lee diss QT over his overuse of the "N-word" in films "Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown" as well as Denzel having a confrontation with QT on the set of "Crimson Tide" over his changes to the script that dealt with race. QT is no stranger to criticism over race.
Well with his new movie coming out on Christmas day. Many are wondering how it will do at the box office cause of the controversy from the Slave subject matter and the use of the "N-word". Vibe caught up with Spike Lee and asked him if he was going to give "Django Unchained" a chance but Spike wasn't having it:
Don't expect legendary film maker Spike Lee to catch Quentin Tarantino's latest creation. While his own visions of race and culture have sparked dialogue beyond the New York most of his work pays homage to the plight of race and blacks in america. The director of "Red Hook Summer" had little to say about the slavery love story "Django Unchained."
"I cant speak on it 'cause I'm not gonna see it," he tells VIBETV. "All I'm going to say is that it's disrespectful to my ancestors. That's just me...I'm not speaking on behalf of anybody else."

Well even though he didn't see the movie, that was obviously a shot at QT. QT recently said it would be an olive branch if Spike went and saw the movie. Spike and QT did squash their beef in the late 90's as QT appeared in Spike's "Girl 6" film. But it seems Spike isn't happy with QT taking on Slavery.
2 of Spike's films deal with Race "Do the Right Thing" and "Malcolm X" are considered the greatest movies of all time and both have been preserved by the Library of Congress film registry as Spike joins Legends like Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, George Lucas as being directors to have more than one film make the registry.
