yeah, that sandman part was forced into the movie. but i think they were going for the three enemies deal too because harry was still pissed off at peter at the beginning of the movie. and then once he regained his memory, he was pissed off again up until the end...

It was Marvel's fault for throwing Venom in there. From what I understand the movie was going to be straight Sandman and Harry. Marvel "forced" Raimi to throw in Venom, thus the trash became Spidey 3.

Venom needs his own stage in SM 4. And With that they could have thrown Carnage in there. Spidey and Venom fight it out...then team up to take out Carnage. Perfect storyline.

and they couldn't use Doc Ock because he was dead. And even if somehow he wasn't, he had already "redeemed" himself in Spiderman 2.

The introduction of additional characters would have been fine...those other guys are side pieces at best.
