I just got back from South Africa a few days ago. Dont know if anybody remembers but I made a thread about it a month or 2 ago asking for advice on what to do while Im there.
The places I visited were Joburg, Kruger National Park, and Capetown. I also went mainly by myself, but I did stay with a friend for a few days who was working in the country.
The way I got around this was a site called couch surfer. I found a dude on there that was willing to show me where the good clubs were and this pretty much set up my whole trip. The women in Joburg
The one thing that will work in your favor in Joburg is like half the dudes there are gay, the other half pretty much have no swag whatsoever. I ate pretty good in Joburg.
I actually wasn't feeling Capetown that much. The scene there reminded me of adams morgan in DC. It was also....pretty westernized. It was still fun, and I ate there as well....but I preferred Joburg.
Traveling by myself wasn't bad at all. Its a great convo starter and you end up meeting more people. I'm actually glad I went by myself because I don't think it would of been as fun if I was with my friends. I had my own car, and being by myself meant total freedom to do what I wanted and pick up who I wanted without having to plan around anybody. All my coli brehs should travel regardless of if your friends want to come or not. I got tired of going to Miami and nobody wanted to come to Africa with me. You are only young once....make the most of it. It really helps broaden your mind.
