IPad and tablet sales in general have fallen the last 8 quarters due to phones coming with larger screen sizes including the iPhone 6 plus. This trend confirms what some people already knew. Tablets/ ipads are just bigger phones only without the phone part. Theses devices will continue to fall in sales imo until something major happens to actually create a need for this product like what I suggested in the OP

yea. but the mac app store and ios app store unified? might be almost worth it

my perspective is skewed tho. im far into w10/surface world, so its tough for me to accept the separation now
