The Cavs for all their struggles lately are still a cut above everyone else in the East. But its gotten alot closer lately. Almost to the point where is the Cavs dont bring max effort come postseason they might find themselves on the brink.
Which team is best equipped to go to War with Cleveland?
Celtics : (pros) Tough, well coached, run great offensive sets, they play strong defense and have a dynamic player in Isaiah Thomas.
(cons) They lack the firepower needed to bang with the Cavs in a 7 game series. And the Cavs always game plan well for Thomas
Wizards (pros) They are finally playing up their potential. John Wall and Bradley Beal have both gotten better this year and they are running an efficient high powered offense which Wall orchestrates to perfection. Their defense is also very stellar and they have size at every position
(cons) Team can be undisciplined and is too reliant on their newly found high octane offense at times. As good as they are offensively the Cavs are still better, so the question will be can they buckle down defensively for 7 games?
Raptors (pros) Battle tested, 2 bonafide backcourt stars, High powered offense. One of the best shooting teams all year long and have gotten tougher and bigger with Ibaka and Tucker
(cons) Lowry's injury. In order for the Raptors to push the Cavs to the limit they need peak Lowry out there. The one that shot almost 45% from 3 for the first 35 games. If they get to the 3 seed it gives Lowry more games, more reps to round into form...if they stay in 4th they see the Cavs in the 2nd round which isnt enough time for Lowry
Heat (pros) Don't sleep. Been the league's hottest team since January. They play great defense and share the ball on offense with lots of movement and 3 point shooting. It almost seems as if Lebron has a South Beach hangover.. he's never good against them
(cons) They lack a bonafide star that will need when the game bogs down in the playoffs
