Alright brehs, it's been a crazy day. Dennis says he wants out, then backtracks and said he's A-Town for life

We secured the 3rd overall pick in the lottery. Last time we had it, we drafted Al Horford in 2007.

We just got a new coach in Lloyd Pierce, longtime NBA assistant.

On Schroeder from CBS Sports

However, what's interesting here is that Schroder says he doesn't want to spend his prime losing. Most players don't want to do that, but there's a sense from Schroder that he believes the Hawks are losing games in spite of him and not because of him. The numbers from last season, on the other hand, disagree with that assessment.

The Hawks had a net rating of -6.6 when Schroder was on the floor in comparison to a net rating of -4.9 when he was off the floor. In terms of point differential, he was actively making an already bad Hawks team worse. He does this by playing a style that is very ball dominant and shooter heavy.

Schroder's usage rating increased to 30 percent last season, a career high. His efficiency numbers, on the other hand, took a dip when he went from taking 15 shots a game to 17. If Schroder is going to dominate the ball the way he did, then a true shooting percentage of 51 percent isn't going to cut it. He doesn't make up for his high volume of shots with 3-pointers, because he's a poor shooter from deep at 29 percent. Schroder has become an inefficient gunner that hurts Atlanta more than he helps.

LINK: If Dennis Schroder demands a trade as Hawks rebuild, here's why Atlanta may happily oblige

Get this Schroderfraude outta here :camby:

Dennis Schroder to talk to Hawks to decide what's best for him

Atlanta Hawks guard Dennis Schroder has indicated playing for the Indiana Pacers or Milwaukee Bucks would be a good fit for him.

Schroder said those teams are "going in the right direction."

The 24-year-old German held a news conference in his native country and his words were translated by FIBA.basketball writer David Hein.

Schroder said he plans on meeting with Hawks owner Tony Ressler and general manager Travis Schlenk along with his agent to get a better understanding on where the team is headed.

"I have to look individually what's the best for me," Schroder was quoted as saying. "I will be 25 in September and of course you want to win a title some time. In my prime -- 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 -- I want to compete. I cannot be second to last in the Eastern Conference. That's why I will have the talks with the Atlanta Hawks."

Atlanta ended last season with a 24-58 record, last in the Eastern Conference.

Schroder said he wants to stay in Atlanta if things are going in the right direction. He has spent his entire five-year career with the Hawks.

Schroder was drafted No. 17 overall in the 2013 NBA draft. He averaged 19.4 points and 6.2 assist per game last season.

@Motife43 where do you see that he backtracked? Is what I bolded what you're referring to?

I don't follow college basketball outside of March Madness but from what I've heard and seen online Bagley is the best option at #3
I made sure to follow all the top guys heavily once it was clear we were in a rebuild. Porter went down early so there's not a lot to go by aside from his high school stuff.

Ayton is probably the best big man and closest to a sure thing in this draft. Mo Bamba is very dominant inside as well. Needs to get more consistent, but the potential is there. I don't like taking chances on oversees cats cause I've seen way too many with the hype fizzle out so I'm not too keen on Luka.

Bagley impressed me. His ball handling skills for a guy his size is impressive. He'll bulk up a bit to be able to compete in the paint at the next level. But he can definitely stretch the floor which is important in this current NBA. He's gotten comparisons to Chris Bosh and Anthony Davis cause of his skillset and athleticism.

I like Bagley on the Hawks but there won’t be any rim protection between him and Collins. Collins might get traded eventually unless one of the two surprises and becomes an anchor down low.
