Your fighting z fighters and shyt of course not. but it protected vegita against yajarobi's sword shyt nearly killed him the first time...

On the real though, besides looking good what did it protect against? Or maybe it's just strong gear since the crazy shyt they do would have regular clothes all fukked before a fight starts.
