BvS should have never happened this early period.
They tried to use elements of The Dark Knight Returns but in that scenario Batman and Superman already had a well established friendship and understanding for decades. They only reason Batman even took it that far was because he knew the type of person Superman was and knew the lines he wouldn't cross.
That's what people don't understand about the whole Batman vs Superman dynamic. Batman's biggest weapon against Superman is that relationship. Batman knows Clark will pull his punches and always hold back.
When you take that away the conflict loses all significance. That's why the main conflict between them felt so awkward and forced when it came to the main fight. The build up was way too fast and sudden.
The awkwardness is going to carry on into JL because I still don't buy the whole Batman ready to kill Superman to Batman wanted to build a better world and team in honor of Superman when he really didn't learn anything new about him other than they share the same mother's name.
I also don't like the personality of this Batman. He's really cool but he lacks the confidents, intellect, and calm that I'm used to seeing in the character. Ben Affleck portrays him paranoid, insecure, and unsure of himself which is fine for a rookie Batman but this Batman is supposed to be experienced.
I'll still see the movie but it kind of sucks that they would drop the ball on so many characters.
