I had been using game mode on my samsung 40 lcd for the longest. Heard about this trick to rename inputs a while back but never tried it. Game mode is cool but it degrades quality quite a bit. I'm wanting to upgrade to a xb1 or ps4 soon and didnt want to invest in another tv just to get around lag input. So i read up on it a little and found that samsung tvs in hdmi mode use a technology called overscan or something...basically working the video processor harder than necessary. You can trick the tv by renaming hdmi to "pc". Menu>input list>edit name>change your main hdmi1 or hdmi 2 to pc. Turn off tv and back on and beast. Ill be upping this thread come holiday season when the brehs are wondering why advanced warfare is lagging when he tries to go right on his brand new LED 3D curved television :lolbron:

all game mode does is turn off post processing, the post processing adds to input delay.

if there is post processing there is almost guaranteed to be input lag still.

game mode doesn't 'degrade' the quality usually. It just shows you an untouched source signal with no extra color depth or contrast processing, no smoothing etc.

I don't want my input lag increased with this change. Let me see.

naw this change won't increase input lag. Im saying that if the post processing is still on then there should still be some input lag

game mode turns this post processing off

I don't know if this method does or not

I'm leaning towards putting it back to GAME on my Sammy.

if the pc has an hdmi connection, it should. Vga of course would look normal all things considered

I call :duck: until someone post before and after pics
no more lag input breh :mjcry:. Tested on crysis 3 and bad company 2. I switched off game mode and manually adjusted picture settings (i.e automotion set to off, noise filter "low" etc) The xbox 360 actually looks.....good

I don't even see where you can rename inputs on my TV. :why:

this may be an exclusive for samsung sets. Read that LG also has the same issues as samsung though.

not sure about your tv but my hdmi inputs dont allow manual write in....only change input name to; dtv, dvi, pc, hdmi 3, iptv etc. You can always switch it back to default

I'll test with both after this advanced warfare updates and see if I feel/see a difference.
