I work in tech so I picked these for a reason. Not every career path offers a black person to live in a place such as Atlanta, which I have lived in, with a strong black experience.

Anyway I have listed some of these places I would at least consider career opportunities to move. Some I omitted like Phoenix, Boston, or San Francisco because fukk those places. Anyways here's my list.

-Seattle, WA
-Austin, TX
-Raleigh, NC (Research Triangle Park in particular)
-Northern VA / DC Area
-Philadelphia
-Nashville
-Denver / Fort Collins
-San Diego

I'm not going anywhere without a decent black community.:camby:

I don't live too far from Austin and one thing I've noticed and it has been in several newspapers is that although other minority populations are increasing in the city, blacks are leaving Austin and moving to the suburbs. I think it is mostly due to blacks finding more affordable housing in the outskirts of Austin.

Austin doesn't really have a lot of stuff for blacks culturally. It wouldn't be a problem if Austin didn't hail itself is a liberal bastion within Texas. The city act likes their shyt don't stank...it's a haven for whites but meh for blacks.

From your list I would pick nova/DC as my top choice. It's expensive, but you'll be getting paid much more. There's a lot of successful black people out there making moves. Lots of military bases too, so if you can get that contractor money :blessed:.

Second would be Denver because I love my city. Fort Collins though :scusthov:

After those I would choose Seattle, Austin, or San Diego in no particular order.

San Diego #1 for me... Especially for tech. Not so much for black culture than for a more diverse culture.

Northern VA/DC probably #1 in general for a black man in tech (especially if you have a clearance).

I heard Texas is good for Tech but im not sure about Austin. Houston is pretty close in terms of black culture to ATL though

Denver is great for tech I hear and Fort Collins sound like a military institution. I heard it's pretty chill for black dudes

Never heard much about NC in terms of race. I'm sure it's mostly white and I only hear about SC in terms of tech job growth (30% increase in Charleston so they say... Boeing, Lockeed, GD, etc., are out there as well)

I wouldn't go to philly for shyt. Haven't heard shyt about tech jobs there

I personally wouldn't go to Nashville for shyt as well... For jobs or as a black man.

I used to live in Northern VA / DC with my parents as a teen. I really like the area but I have no clearance..I think I could get one, but government jobs when it comes to tech offer less pay over time, but more job stability.

The thing that deters me from it is that it has gotten expensive as shyt there.

Denver I really liked when I went there. Didn't feel much racial tension there tbh.

Philly yea is dangerous but it's a walkable city but I don't think there's much much for tech tho.

There are no bases in Fort Collins. It's a college town. All the bases are in Colorado Springs. There's also one in aurora which is about 15 minutes from Denver.

Oh, I forgot about Seattle...

Don't know much about it. I think it's tech friendly though but not sure. It might not be your typical help desk/networking tech, more like for programming or web designer based. Don't quote me though, I'll google it later.

But in regards to black culture, I don't think you'll find much there. still I hear it's a chill place to live as well. Cold and rains a lot I think
