:wow:

I didn't see this talked about much on here, but last weekend, Chance the Rapper had a show in Chicago... at US Cellular Field... and he broke the attendance record for the building. (over 47K). Chance's show happened on Saturday, and then Common had his AAHH Fest on Sunday. I attended both, and got to shoot Common's AAHH Fest all day which was dope af.

Chance's Magnificent Coloring Day had a pretty star studded lineup. And as Hannibal Buress put it during his short set, "it's like Chance picked the acts for his show after listening to his iPod on shuffle"
:mjlol:

Show literally had something for all ages that came... from Lil Uzi Vert, to Alicia Keys and John Legend, to Tyler the Creator, to 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. Young Thug was also on the bill, but he was late for his set so he got scratched.

On top of the acts that were booked for the show, Kanye West made a surprise appearance which completely caught me off guard. Yeezy had a tour show the same night in Nashville and another show the next night in Ohio, so I thought he wasn't coming for sure...

It was apparent that the venue wasn't used to having concerts (I think there has only been 2 other concerts thrown there) when Ye came out because the stadium got LIT as fukk and kids were literally rushing onto the field. Hopping into the bullpen and jumping the sideline fences. Field seats were going for hundreds of dollars, but plenty of people got a discount during Kanye's set, cause security stood no chance of stopping everybody that hopped on the field. It looked like a zombie apocalypse in that bih

It was something to see. He did about 6 songs, and wrapped it up with Ultralight Beam which was a dope ass moment.

Chance's set was a lil rocky when he came out. I think they had some tech difficulties because some of his transitions were too long. He went in the back after his set started for like 4 minutes. Something was messin' up. He played some songs from Acid Rap and his 10 Day mixtape, but it was clear most of his known records are off his Coloring Book project...

...another thing that was weird was how he closed the show out. Basically, Skillrex came on after Chance, which made no sense, because after Chance's set, everybody started heading for the exits. Myself included. Wasn't trying to stick around for a DJ set, especially after the headliner already performed. Not sure who's idea that was, but that was odd to say the least.

Now on to Sunday. Common and Kanye's Foundations 2nd AAHH Fest went down.

Hopefully this becomes an annual event, because the last one was 2 years ago and it was dope then and it was dope again this year. The acts included, Sir the Baptist, The Internet, Jeremih, Vic Mensa, The Roots, Common (he brought out Ice Cube, Bilal and R. Kelly) and J. Cole headlined it.

The AAHH Fest is 2 days, so it kind of overlapped with Chance's show on Saturday, but the show on Sat is really for the kids, and it's only from like 10AM to 2PM. But even with Chance's MCD show going on Saturday, Chance still popped up for Common's Fest and performed some songs for the kids before going on at the Sox stadium. I thought it was pretty cool how they all looked out for each other and went out there way to support each other.

I had a media pass for the AAHH Fest, so I got to shoot pretty much everybody (except for Cube and Kells, security started getting on big bullshyt towards the end for some reason). Here's some shots from the show tho...

Epic but I wouldn't consider that as something monument like when chief keef's Back from the Dead mixtape first hit the streets. :jbhmm:
